Great day everyone!! good to see some nice cars and good runs on the Dyno!!
Am I going to be the only pre-2000 (or 80s) car there?
Does anyone have the results for the day (including mods list)?
Would be great to see some comparative results from other dyno days

Thanks to Backdoor Shenanigans for organising this. Sorry I could only hang around for a few runs. The two Beamers I saw/heard sounded great.
For the reference, my car is stock and the technician probably ran the car in the wrong gear* (fourth rather than fifth), so it only got up to 118kw and 237NM, rather than the manufacturer quoted 132kw/240NM. I was more concerned about the torque numbers, as I've had a few changes to cater to oil consumption, and wanted to be sure nothing had been done to restrict output.**
* It was a Subaru specialist shop, so I'm guessing because everyone else was running 6-speed DSG's he assumed they are all six speed, and there wasn't really an opportunity to discuss the difference and/or re-run.
** I came across a reference on a fan forum for another brand restricting 1.4 TSI output to 180NM to cover up oil consumption issues.
Now gone.... 2012 Skoda Fabia RS
It was a great day, thanks for making this happen
Shame I can't stick around for any longer to see more runs
Got 120kw and 368nm out of 3rd gear(1.3:1 ratio)
Strange though they didn't do it in 4th(0.9:1) which is closer to 1:1 in my gearbox
06 Polo TDi
The manufacturer 132kw numbers will be at the flywheel, not wheels. 14kw drivetrain loss sounds about right.
08 9n3 Polo GTI
Mods: heaps
Ah, good to know. Only a bit over 10% loss - it was so close I assumed it had to be a calculated flywheel measurement.

Thanks all for a good day, Hope everyone was OK with a bit of waiting. Big shoutout to Maximum motorsports for all their efforts and for a smooth running day. And thanks to geoff for providing the grub!
Heres my dyno sheet. Bit dissapointed with the number but it hasn't been tuned in ages and given all my drama im happy that it still works so all good in the end. Will come back for another dyno once the cars running much better.
They are hopefully going to send me all the dyno sheets but otherwise we may have to just list it here.
Gear ratios are fairly irrelevant in dynamometer testing. They mainly aim for 1:1 ratio to try and reduce the effect of small losses but also to provide the best range of power. Another factor is to reduce the torque requirements of the dyno. Since power is calculated by using torque and RPM a change of gear will increase torque but reduce RPM thus giving the same power. Also if you noticed during the inital part of the dyno test he is figuring out the best ratio to use and inputs that into the dyno. Also as explained above thats at the wheels not flywheel as is quoted by factory. Its probably better explained here.

Thanks Tom, looks good. Ill try and upload my gopro videos sometime this week.
