Always an amazing weekend when Melbourne, VWs and mates are combined. I had to work on the Friday night; by the time I got home, it was 3:30am. There was no way I was gonna drive straight after work so I grabbed some shut-eye. I ended up driving to CPC (about 40 minutes in the opposite direction!) to pick up a prop-shaft for AP (some of the Sydney guys were in Melbourne already and apparently got into some mishaps).
Made good time on the trip down but unfortunately was going a little too fast just before the NSW-Vic border and got pulled up by HWP. Airred up in time so avoided defects but copped a speeding fine, my bad.
Got to Melbourne by 7:30pm and I was fungry, and had always wanted to visit Garage Cafe so I met up with Josh and his brother for dinner. To my surprise, it was an Indonesian restaurant, and I absolutely LOVE Indo/Malay cuisine. I'll definitely drop by again next I'm in Melbourne.
AP dropped by GC to pick up the prop-shaft as he needed to get started on replacing his busted one to get to DOVW and back to Sydney. Thanks to Tim for Dub Addiction's space, he managed to get it in by midnight So glad that he got it up and running again. Saw the VAGtuning boys at DA, stayed a little while, then buggered off back to the hotel for some well-deserved shut-eye.
4 hrs later, rise and shine. Washed the car (much easier to find a car wash place in Melbourne than in Sydney) and met up with Dylan, Simon, Pat, Josh, James and Sydney Josh.
Cruised up to Yarra Glen, kissing asphalt with the subframe, burning sidewall rubber, ****ting bricks when two HWP cars pulled out... another close call...

Got into DOVW a bit late but no problems, others were still trickling through. Tony and others saved us some spots in the watercooled section to park up in.
Amazing cars all over, such an awesome sight. Melbourne dubs are on a whole other level. Here's a select few:

Met up with some of the Stanceworks guys too and ended up going out to Lygon St (after passing through Chappell St) for dinner. Had a good yarn over a rib-eye and some James Squires, all-in-all a Sunday I won't forget for a while. Was awesome of them to organise a get-together with little notice.
Finished the night off with an RBT, yet dodged another potential defect notice.
The next day, met up with AP at Tyrepower North Melbourne to have his alignment set before the 850km+ journey ahead of us. Had some amazing breakfast and caffeine hit.
And then we were on our way, just a bit after 10am.
I want to say a big thanks to everyone in Melbourne for welcoming us oh so warmly, had a great time in Melbourne again. Definitely can't wait for March to roll around!
All my pics can be found at the House of Stance FB page!
