Of course, but I never start my car for only a short period and then turn it off, if I'm going to run it shortly thereafter. I always let the oil warm up properly before I turn off the engine, to minimise wear and tear. Cold starts are the enemy!

(Yes, I am aware of the relative pointlessness of the exercise, given how few kays I do and how long I'll keep the car, but hey, it's my baby! )

I had to move my Amarok from one my driveway to another one yesterday .

If I have to move my cars around in the driveway I take off the handbrake and push them instead of starting them up to move 2-3 metres. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I don't care.

Builds them muscles! I've always done this too, but geez the Golf is a heavy little car! Made my Accord Euro feel like a featherweight.
