Thread: Adelaide: Monthly Coffee and Drive Meet - Discussion Thread

Did you say you wanted to end up at McLaren Vale?
Bull Creek Rd is another great one if we are going out that far, and perhaps from Mt Barker, head up hawthorn rd to echunga rather than flaxley, it will be too busy. PLus hawthorn is a great mini rally.

The main concern about ending up in McLaren Vale is that people still need to get back, so if we make it 120km+ to get there, that may push it over the line for some people, whereas a start and finish near the city is a bit more accessible. Having said that, I'm happy to go further. What do people think?

Here's an alternative route, that takes in the roads you and Rhys mentioned, and ends up in McLaren Vale at Blessed Cheese (a fantastic cafe and lunch spot):

Yes, it's a bit of on the longish side, so if I go I will join you somewhere down south.

Well, I can reduce it some? If we ended up near the city, what sort of length would you like? And if we ended up in McLaren Vale, what length?

We can always decide on the day, but given the relative complexity of the route some maps wouldn't be a bad idea, in which case deciding beforehand would definitely help.

Well for me personally it would make my life easier if I was home by lunch time (back in Semaphore by 1pm).
I wouldn't mind starting a little earlier if we went a bit further but need to finish somewhere nearish to town around 12.

Might be tricky to start too much earlier, being a Sunday morning and all. The meet is for 9:30.

Here is a slight modification of the first route (I'll call this Option 3), that includes Hawthorn Rd, but doesn't go as far south as Mt Compass or as far west as McLaren Vale; it should get us back to near the city by close on 12ish:

Option 3 looks good - and I can bail out at Clarendon/Chandlers Hill depending on how time is going.

Option 1 or 3 would be fine for me, 3min from home on start and finish points

Yep option 3 looks good to me, I only referred to McLaren vale as it was mentioned earlier. Probably better to keep it manageable.

Okay, as I've heard no dissenting views, I've updated the Announcement Thread.

Hope to see plenty of people there!
