What would you classify as quickly?

The have a tread wear rating of 140 which is half what a Michelin PS3 or ContiSport has.

I've had RE050A for the last 25k. Thye've got about 2.5mm left before they hit the TWIs. For the grip they have I think they are great.

NB: there is an RE050A(asymetric) & an RE050 (directional).

    235/40r18 RE050A can be had fro $270
    235/35r19 RE050A can be had for $350

michelins are similar money but probably the better buy

    yowtch...

Was quoted 4 x Continental Contisportcontact 5 (Original factory rubber on the Lakeville 18" rims) including alignment & balancing for $1,000 at my local VW Dealer Service Center about a month or so ago at my 30,000km service. Tyres are getting close to 60% worn now. Hoping to stretch them as close as possible to 45,000km and change all four for newies just before my road trip to SA, NSW, ACT & VIC and back to WA.

The dealer was cheaper than BJTMs!!

1981 Honda Civic hatch. Proper AUTO REVERSE cassette player. AM/FM with Stereo speakers. Four (yep, FOUR!) speed manual. Full cloth trim seats. HALOGEN lightbulbs! Factory options fitted: rear wipers and washer, "Go Fast" wheel covers & electric front windows.

If you can get them for $1k then grab them (maybe take them loose with a promise to fit/align later). The cheapest I can find is $1270 for the same package (and their alignments I wouldn't trust)

Brad, you have no idea how much I was tempted! I had to pass because (1) the contis I have on atm still have sufficient legal tread and grip very well and (2) I'd like to set off on my trip with new tyres and full tread and (3) don't have the space to store 4 loose tires for the next 4 - 5 months

If anyone in WA is interested in knowing more info about the deal I was quoted, PM me
