Ps: every one should learn to drive a truck with no rear view mirror. Oh and also don't get an Asian driving instructor.
Yeah right. Please read the original post. The OP can reverse park. I suppose you don't use cruise control either since you should be able to maintain a steady speed yourself.

[Edit] Well maybe you were just trying to be funny. I've never been great at picking up dry humour, and conversely whenever I try it I'm always taken seriously lol.

You are obviously just trying to troll so really did not want to dignify you with a response.

And I thank everyone else who has stood up for me.

But just so you know, yes I have been driving for over 25 years, never disqualified (though I confess to receiving a few speeding tickets).

I am not asian, but take offence at your racist remarks. Are you seriously suggesting that anyone (asian or otherwise) who has a driver's instructor's license cannot drive?

As I said before, yes I can reverse park. And I predicted a few amusing responses, though nothing as offensive as yours.

I am not going to call you a tecno phobe, or luddite, as much as I am tempted to. I am not even going to call you ignorant. You should do yourself a favour though: go to a local VW dealer and (assuming you can afford a new VW), test drive a VW with park assist. Then, and only then, when you are qualified to talk (not troll), let me know what you think.

That's a pretty low thing to say. Are you taking a shot at his financial standing? Simply because someone cannot afford a Passat CC doesn't make them less of a person. I for one couldn't afford one. No way in the world. (If i could i probably wouldn't buy one.. That's a lotta money for 4 seats!).

I tend to agree. Park assist, stability control.. All these things make people complacent.

Take that how ever you please.

Ok sorry I have affended some of you guys I just know from past forums how precious some people get when comments are made.

Seriously, I am not serious as I have never experienced self parking or any other fancy feature so I cannot make an educated decision.

    Happy driving.

Ah I knew this was an attempt at dry humour. Hard to pull off when the audience doesn't know you. Good on you for apologising.

Preen59 i didn't realise that some people value a cars price based on how many seats it may have.
If you are a true believer in that theory then I suggest you get yourself a 7 seater combi van.
Value for money and no park assist or stability control
    LOL

Apology accepted. I'm sure you were being jovial, it just didn't come across right. We are all guilty of that from time to time (I maybe my response came across a little too sharp too)

Just gotta show how careful we all got to be....

Preen (and others) - valid comments too. I have to admit I am a little afraid of some of these driver aids too, in the sense that they can lead to complacency. I was reading an article yesterday about some woman (in a Lexus I think) whose car allegedly inexplicably started to accelerate - and she was unable to brake - apparently the car slowed down by itself afterwards). That got me thinking: I wonder how many accidents will be caused by tech that users don't understand? Hopefully though, the car makers continue developing these aids. I still think that, used responsibly, these aids are fantastic.
