How to market the private sale of a used Passat CC

I have owned my v6 Passat CC since new for over 4 years now. Just did the major service, 2 new tyres and it's running great. Still on extended warranty too.

I could easily keep her for a few more years. But I'm getting itchy feet and looking at possibly buying another car soon. I am therefore looking into my options of how I should market the sale of my car privately (not now but when I get a new car). I don't want to trade her in, I want to sell privately when I'm ready.

Thing is: now that Passat CCs are known simply as CCs I don't know where to advertise my car. For example carsales.com.au has a separate category for (post 2012) CCs but lumps earlier models under "Passat" only. There is no separate category for "Passat CC". I am thus concerned that people won't be able to find my car if I advertise there and people simply search for a "CC"!

I'm also concerned that with the (pre) 2012 Passat CC VW never put a badge on the boot (as they now do with the CC) and this may confuse potential buyers.

Hence my question to all those who have sold or are selling their Passat CCs: how did you advertise/market your car?

For those who have bought a Passat CC as a used car, where did you look to find it?

i bought mine a week ago and got it through car sales.there is a section called CC under VW,but it is 2012+,the 3 is also left off the newer models.yes prior to this is lumped under
Passat 3CC,but anyone interested in one should know the earlier ones were called this.i think the models prior to 2010 did have the badging, then it was left off for a couple of years and then back again.i also looked in Gumtree as well.at the moment there seems to be a very short supply of decent V6 4 Motion models with almost 3 times as many turbo models.i dont think you can really go past car sales but forums like this are definately worthwhile too.i checked here regularly when i was looking.
    good luck

Thanks for the quick reply Warrick. The Passat CC never had badges to my knowledge, they only started having the CC badge with the facelift model post 2012/13.

It's great that you recognized that the old Passat CC was also known as a Passat 3CC - even I didn't know that!

Don't worry about the category mate. CC buyers are people who know CCs and will find the car by simply putting CC in the search column. It is not really that hard to find the cars you want on carsales. I know sometimes it can be tricky but people will find a way.
What car are you laying your eyes on?

I actually didn't know they existed until playing around with filters on carsales.com
