Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor - Any suggestions appreciated

Probably just a coincidence with the Penrite. Point taken regards regen - if there's a fault the scanner can't override. Booked in with mechanic this week coming - hopefully not too expensive.

When it comes back I'm going to have a look myself at the EPB (warning light comes on when car turns left!) and then the fuel flap - think I need a new actuator for the fuel flap!

Yep id say its nothing more than a coincidence that it happened after running the Penrite DPF fluid.

As for the EPB and fuel flap actuator, the EPB might just be a broken wire or dodgy connection seeing it only happens when turning - hopefully a DIY fix.

As for the fuel flap actuator, ive had this issue with our Audi and the actuator starting making a really weird noise when you lock/unlock the car and sometimes you couldnt open the fuel flap when at the petrol station. Rather than wait for it to fail completely, I took the proactive route and ordered the replacement part (which had to come from Europe). I fitted a new actuator and problem solved. Hopefully thats all you need to do too. Another DIY fix.

Okay, always worth following-up.

Mechanic replaced the exhaust gas temperature sensor. I asked for the old (original) sensor - it has part #: 03G906088B VWAGATS200.

The newly installed EGT sensor is a Pierburg 7.08369.07.0. I found out there are a number of alternatives, including the Bosch EGT with part #: 0986259075. The Bosch EGT is available from Run Auto Parts for $210. The thread is M14 x 1.5mm and the cable length is 565mm.

I will check out the old sensor with a multimeter and see if the resistance is out of spec.

Anyway, here's the strange thing! EGT replaced around a week ago now and the coil warning light and check engine light have both gone off as you would expect - all good! Surprisingly though (I can't think of a reason why) the EPB warning light has gone! No EPB warning light coming on when I turn left! Weird! Everything normal!

Good to hear the main issue is fixed. Very odd that the EPB issue has now disappeared - but sounds like a win all around.

Okay, a week later - travelled down the road this morning, turned left and... "Ding" - the park brake warning light came on! I'll have a good look at the EPB (driver's side) when I put new pads and discs on in 3-4 months time. So yes, too good to be true, and nothing could surely be that weird eh?!
