They are both controlled by the driver's door control module.
Got a second-hand door lock mechanism (tested) to replace the one in the driver's door - the car locks/unlocks intermittently. I don't want to get stuck with a mechanism that doesn't work at all with the door stuck closed.
Thing is, the fuel flap doesn't open on occasions when the button/lever is pulled
Does anyone know if the driver's door lock issue is related to the fuel flap? Are they linked in some way? Not much point fixing the door lock if I go to get diesel and can't open the fuel flap?

As above, if the doors are locked then the fuel flap door should also be locked. And if the doors are unlocked the fuel flap door should also unlock.
Okay, stopped for fuel on several occasions and opened the driver door to get out - fuel flap wouldn't open; close door, open again, try again and luckily the flap pops open!
So, if I change the driver's door actuator then the fuel flap will be okay - sounds like that's what you're saying?
No not the actuator. The door control module. It's plugged into the window regulator motor.

So, opening (not closing) vehicle via central locking now is problematic - both remotes have new batteries and the problem still occurs with either remote. Sometimes the vehicle won't unlock (doors open) - takes several tries standing in various spots with either of the key remotes.
Closing (locking) the vehicle is never a problem - only unlocking. Also, the fuel cap flap often doesn't open first time when activated at the petrol station (driver's door button).
It seems then that the fuel cap flap button and door unlcoking issue are not directly related then - two separate actuators?
Reckon the actuator (in the boot) is on its way out - need to source one - think it's part 3C8810773A. Can anyone confirm?
