Can any of you guys tell me how you find Sports mode in your CC.
ie.. ride harshness, if any, handling improvement etc. thanks.

....OK, so no-one reading this post has a CC, and has no interest in replying I gather. I'll try the UK.

Personally I am not sure what the question was.

Isn't there a button to switch between normal and sport mode for the suspension?

Or do you mean Launch Control. If so I am not sure if CC's have em (Diesels definately do not). Turn off ESP, put car in S mode, hold brake and tap accellerator. If the car comes out of gear, it has launch control. Rev car to about 3k rpm and take foot off brake.

Otherwise if you clarify the question you will get plenty of answers.

3.6 CC should have launch control. It's the same engine and gearbox as the R36.

Also, you can hold your foot flat on the go pedal and the computer holds the revs at 3k for you. Just remember the half a second delay from releasing the break to launching.

Make sure you turn ESP off first though. I did it the other way once and it didn't like it at all!

I think boxer is talking about the Adaptive Chassis Control specific to the CC:

"Adaptive chassis control electronically adjusts the damper
characteristics for each wheel, ensuring optimum driving
comfort for any road surface or driving situation. It achieves
the optimum balance between driving comfort and driving
dynamics based on a newly developed control algorithm.
Adaptive chassis control uses wheel movement sensors and
body acceleration sensors to determine the positions and
speeds of the wheels and the motion of the chassis, then
adjusts the damping for each wheel individually every
millisecond. It analyses signals from the steering, engine,
gearbox, brake system and driver assistance systems.
By selecting Normal, Sport or Comfort modes, the damper
controls and electro-mechanical steering system adapt -
ranging from comfort-oriented to a firmer, sporty
characteristic. In Sport mode, the dampers suppress rolling
and pitching motion to achieve sporty and dynamic
handling. In Comfort mode, ride quality is more like a
luxury limousine, especially when driving on poor road
    surfaces at slow speeds."

Anyone with a CC care to help out boxer with his Q on how the CC feels/drives when in Sport mode?

    Cheers,
    Jayse.

There is a button on the right hand side of the gearshift marked Normal, comfort and Sport. Press the button to change the settings.

I had a CC for a week when my mechatronics unit was being replaced, and I can definately say it made a difference.

The three setting were noticible. I ran an experiment to see whether it was just in my head. I would change the setting from normal to sport, and see whether the minister for war and finance (my wife) was able to tell. Usually only took a minute or so for her to comment on the road being rough etc. and asking whether I had hit the "stiff" button!

Conversly in comfort mode, the car was comfortable, but wallowy (sic) and less enjoyable to drive.

    Hope this helps.

    R36 Dreamer,
I edited my above post to include any ones experience/opinion of driving with the sports mode on. I think thats what boxer's Q was about. Not so much where the button is or how to turn on the sports mode.

    Cheers,

    Jayse.

Thanks for comments. I've ordered a CC and just wanted to know how CC owners found the ride comfort in Sport mode in particular. I've read a million reviews, (the local ones and quite a few from the UK, the US ones are for the most part just useless) and the only negative comments seem to be about the ride issues, particuarly Sports mode, which quite a few reviewers say is just plain harsh and should'nt be used. How accurate do our local CC owners find these comments?

I've driven two CCs and in Sports mode it's still a boat! Too soft... The only real reason I went with the R36 instead.
