New Volkswagen Taigun is a Concept for an Up!-Based Small SUV [Updated] - Carscoop

For its motivation, the small crossover model utilizes a prototype version of the Up! hatchback's 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine enhanced with direct fuel injection and turbocharging technology to boost output to 108hp (110PS) and 175Nm (129 lb-ft) at a low 1,500 rpm. A six-speed manual transfers power to the front wheels.

cross up! is nothing new, the concept was launched last (2011) September at the Frankfurt show.
When an offcial press release hits our desk we will post all about it

Worst journalism i have ever read.

Claiming the "Cross" variants as SUV's is just rediculous.
It's the same car but with plastic moulding's and 15mm taller springs.

Sorry folks, I've since changed my tune - cars that could be lighter, better, etc., yet utilise more resources for the sake of pathetic soccer mums who "feel safer because they are up high"... it's unacceptable these days.

We've fkced the world, and we need a car industry that is more forgiving and conscientious of the environment. Another effing "small version of a 2wd SUV" is not the answer.

I think the Taigun looks great. I'd have one for snow duties - in awd (because our beloved country is so pathetically backward that "snow socks" as seen in Europe, are not "safe" here in the high country - instead, we need to attach wheel chains when it is raining sleet - talk about backwater!).

But a "high riding for safety so that the people in the other car die instead of me, when I fork up my driving skills" is NOT the answer.

But meh... That's just my opinion...
