The Volkswagen Golf MK5 GTI features a 2.0 litre turbocharged inline 4-cylinder petrol engine with Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) direct-injection technology, which produces 147 kW. It is available in both 3-door and 5-door hatchback body shapes, and comes with a choice of either 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG). It features four-wheel disc brakes, vented up front and solid out back, work with ABS and electronic brake-force distribution to slow things down. On the front you’ll find the big red calipers wrapped around the 345mm brake disc rotors while the back sports 253mm disc rotors.
