Hey guys, I was just wondering wether it is worth getting a tune done on a MK6 GTI???? If so how much power/performance and economy will this achieve?

it's the same for mkv/mkvi... a tune adds so much, definately noticeable and definately worth it. don't rush into it, do your research and find someone who you can deal with for all your tuning and servicing requirements.
Yes.
Yes it is.
Research all your options, don't go for the one with the most advertising, have a look at some dyno results and speak to people who have the tunes.
Being in five dock you are very close to North Parramatta. This would influence my choice.

Citroen DS3 Dsport. Sold
2016 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon.
In my not so humble opinion
Look for a product and service that delivers the following
Local dealer and preferably a national dealer network (will mean help if you need it)
Some type of warranty (check the fine print)
Company history (are they well known, do they have proven capability)
Retune free offers (if VW overwrite the tune etc)
Lastly, competitive price
Dyno results are one thing but they rarely if ever tell the whole story.
i guess it depends how u value "worth"?
if ur the type of person that doesnt know much about cars, then i guess tuning a car wouldnt be of much interest to u. but if ur enthusiastic about cars, and like to get the most out of them, then modifying and tuning would be a great choice.
i ask the question whether buying fancy designer clothing is worth it? for me, never, its a waste of money. but as u can see, i like cars

As DonJuan said palaceone,
Going back to the stock tune is like driving another car !
I did heaps of homework and heaps of phone calls, plus alot of forum trawling before doing the tune.
Fuel economy on light throttle/ highway driving a little better, but def worth the money IMO.
Good luck with your decision !

Too true CandyMan,
Taste the dyno figures with a pinch of salt........for me it was more about drivability than figure generated with a another car(not mine) with 'test' conditions.
All up I think all the tunes on the market would be good in their own righht, its the other things CandyMan said that made me think.
Mark VI Golf GTI - Carbon steel, DSG, Detroit's, Leather, Sunroof, Sat Nav, Reverse camera, R LED Taillights, APR Stage 1, Carbonio CAI, OSIR Vent pod, STRI DSD-SLM II boost gauge
APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
here's a link to APR's detail of the ECU reflash.
Well worth it IMO.
I believe that APR offer a free 6 hour trial. Give it a try and decide for yourself.

Trial tunes are a poor way to experience a tune
The ECU needs a tank of fuel use before the map settles in
Plus if you don't go ahead you have an artificial "stock" map put back
Talk to current tuned car owners and ask for a drive
That gives you the true picture
