Instead if changing your airbox try changing your air filter to a high flow one, most likely than not you'll probably see similar gains for probably a cheaper price

O sorry about not being specific this was for the golf gti mk 6 2.0 tsi. The modshack CAI, was there any trouble installing it, it seems like it has alot of good reviews on the golfmk6.com forums and its alot cheaper as well. Does it come with the stage 2 tubing?
Hi Mate,
Have you thought about a K&N Airbox? http://www.knfilters.com/instruction...4-832_inst.pdf
Cheers,
Goran.
Absolutely loving my Golf R and hearing the Miss' scream when it come's on boost!!
I'm a fan of the modshack, but it is only a bucket, you have to fit it to the inlet. If you want a full inlet then you will have to look elsewhere. I think the ultimate setup draws air from the stock location and is fully sealed, such as the Forge, APR, VW racing etc, the modshack comes with inlet pipes you can plumb somewhere cold, but it took me a custom front to get it fully sealed like the above filters.
If you like to tinker or plan to build your own inlet plumbing then the modshack is a good option, but it really suits those that want to tinker a bit.

Interesting concept, wonder where it draws air from.....

Unfortunately im not a fan of those filters on a stick, wanted a closed box. I ended up purchasing the AWE CCB intake AWE Tuning C|C|B (Cold Cone Box) Intake - GTI 2.0T - Mk6 G/J (10+) - VW - PRODUCTS . Thanks for your help guys, i wanted to purchase this intake but had trouble getting it shipped and also the dealers here, make it hard to purchase.
good pick, looks like nice kit with good isolation. I don't see how the Modshack one was going to pull cold air.
cheers mate, next step is getting a TBE, wanted to get just the down pipe so i can get a stage 2 tune. But may aswell go all the way. Was thinking either the eurojet TBE NEW: Eurojet 3" MK6 Exhaust Systems - VW GTI MKVI Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVI Forum / VW GTI Forum - Golfmk6.com , or the ultimate racing one Ultimate-Racing :: Volkswagen :: Golf GTI (MK6 '10+) :: Exhaust :: 2010+ Golf GTI 3” Dual Exit Catback Exhaust . Again hard part is shipping =.=
Those are pretty keen prices, I'm flat out doing 42DD mild steel delivered much under those ( will approx be )! You do realise they don't have a cat?
