Hey all,
Just thought id post this up as i'm enquiring about an ECU remap.
I sent VW a email asking if the warranty would be voided if an aftermarket ECU was purchased for the car and this is what they had to say..
Don't worry I made up a random name so they can't give me sh**

So they pretty much told me what I already knew, in this case im sooooo going for an APR ECU remap and if anyone else is thinking about getting a reflash and are skeptical about the warranty side of things, hope this helps people out.
Like VW say, happy motoring

So VW telling you that an ECU modification "may" affect your warranty was the bit that made you decide to modify your ECU? Im not sure I follow the logic.
I've moved this thread to the Tuning forum because it has nothing to do with the MK6. Since I'm not a moderator here though, I'm not able to merge this with one of the many existing threads where this information is already discussed.
As they've noted, it doesn't void the entire warranty, it just means it could cause warranty issues if the ECU upgrade was directly related to a warranty claim.
