Wanting my error codes to return!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own a 2011 Golf R with 16,500 on the clock. It has a APR stage 1 on since 8,000 and I have enjoyed every km of it.

Anyway, On Sunday, my EPC warning light came on and the car was restricted to 4000rpm. So I limped home, in preperation to take to VW on the Monday. Realising on the Monday morning, that VW may want the car for a few days, I thought it wise to see Guy and Jason at APR in Brisbane, to get some advise. Jason kindly scanned the error codes and discovered the codes, 008487 - Accelerator Position Sensor 2 (G185): Signal too low and 008504 - Accelerator Position Sensors (G79)/(G185): Implausible Correlation. Phew, this didn't sound to major. So Jason reverted the ECU back to stock, but beforehand, explained that the error codes would be erased, so printed me a copy of the Emulator report. We further discussed that the errors would probaly reappear almost instantly, or so we this is my quandry.

Since reverting back to stock I have covered nearly 600kms and not even a glimmer of the EPC warning light, and stock is not much fun, especially since Im considering an APR fuel pump and CAI.

So I see I have the following options

1 - Do I leave it for a while to see if this error occurs, which could be "god knows how long" and then go to VW.
2 - Do I go to VW with my error code print out and debate with the service guys why the errors are no longer there and why I have an error report.
3 - Go back to APR, get my stage 1 back on and whilst Im there, say "F&%k it, I'll take a shinny new fuel pump and as much carbonio as I can get."

Comment and guidance would be great.

    Cheers

Hey mate. It's a line-ball call, cause whilst this is about an actual problem with a stock part (the accelerator pedal), but the issue you have is that you have a tune and reverted to stock and haven't got the errors back and are now wondering what to do... lol - so I've moved this to the Tuning forum.

I don't really believe in hiding the fact that you've modified your car to the dealer. If you hadn't tried to do this, then you wouldn't be in the situation you are now.

If you were to go back to APR and get the Stage 1 back on, and add the fuel pump (so Stage 1+ ECU flash) and Carbonio intake, then there is no point in even trying to hide the fact you have your ECU flashed, cause you've got aftermarket hardware.

If I were in your position I'd probably do either 1 or 3.

You must have very nice Dealers down there.

There's nothing to stop him taking a printout to his Dealer. People read their own fault codes and delete them all the time don't they ?

to claim the repair as warranty there must be a fault logged at time of diagnosis and a vw print out/diagnostic log to be attached to the repair order to be claimed under warranty.have replaced a few throttle pedals. you could unplug your throttle pedal to log a fault and then plug it back in and then take it to the dealers. have seen a software update for this fault on certain models to. so would leave your apr tune off for now get it fixed by vw then back to guys for reflashing

The problem is, its only logged once. You take it to a dealer and the diagnostics procedure will most likely show no outcome, because at the time of test the accelerator is working.

They'll then clear it and say have a nice day. But if its logged more then once then even if it checks out ok, a part replacement will probably happen.

VW vas machine shows a screen freeze of when the fault happened, klms, rpm, speed and frequency counter. Maybe similar to vagcom?

Unplugging will give open circuit fault, implausible is still connected but ECU cant work out the signal its given, all the unplugged fault is going to do is show open circuit, clear it and itll never come back. Implausible will in fact have to come back, if i check any cars that have any codes simple or not and in warranty makes sense to leave the code and not clear , as it shows above.

Whatever you choose to do it can always be found out that an update has been performed on the engine ecu if you know what to look for!!
Logs are stored when faults occur, By unplugging connector it will not show a fault happening at a certain time and within certain readings,My suggestion is drive the car untill fault reappears and engine light comes on then take it straight to dealer and let them take a look hopefully your covered, i dont think apr tuning would directly cause an accelerator pedal fault but thats my opinion...
