Your right to go the tune it is that easy to get into the 13s
Do it and you will smile every time you give it a kick in the guts

I can vouch for some of the performance claims made by Simon in an earlier post above. I was running a VWR intake and a Turbo XS dump pipe with the motorsport tune and was able to record a 4.1 sec 0-100kph time using my P3 gauge. My car was running 5.22 sec in stock trim, so just over a second gain all up with the 3 mods. I have a poor quality video via my Blackberry of the run if somone is desparate to see it.
I have just finished installing a FMIC and HPFP, and have taking some data logs to see if some fine tuning will allow me to break the 4 sec barrier.
And like others, I can't recommend Simon enough.

Would the Viezu performance tune for a Golf R be compatible with any type of hardware mod? If so, how would you go about configuring these mods if they are installed after tuning the car?
Also, are there any dealers in Melbourne yet? Quite interested in this
Cheers.

There are hardware mods you can do within a certain "ECU tune". Adding a CAI or FMIC, updating the DV, fuel lines or pressure valve, and many other supporting mods. But then there are things which need a new "level" of "ECU tune". Adding a downpipe / TBE, fuel pump, turbo change, etc. So you need to know what you're doing first, what you want to end up with, and find a tune which caters for the start and end goals, and each expected level inbetween.
This is the case with APR, GIAC, Revo etc, I'm sure it'll be a similar case with Viezu.
Hi Candyman
Still waiting on the NSW dealer and we are also on the hunt for one or two more around NSW. Looking like well have some movement end of year or there abouts, or in the mean time our remote tuning device can cater to areas where our sub dealers have not set up as yet...
Please bounce us an email and I can discuss options with you no problem
Thanks v much

Hi Loulou
Sure - we launch our Melbourne Dealer tomorrow. I'll stick their details in our section hopefully today, but if you want a sneak peak then please bounce me an email and I can give you an intro before the unveiling.
For sure - the 'learning' characteristics of the ECU remain as they do when stock so some mods will adapt ok - others must, or should be written in - with our bespoke writing this is not a problem for Viezu - they do it this way for all of their 350 dealers in 34 countries around the globe.
However - the whole point of Viezu is that - no - we're not like the others as we custom write our tune files to your exact requirements, read file, and mod list. Our R&D & Technical Centre need all relevant information on your vehicle prior to providing your bespoke tune file, rather than just sending "the tune for that engine". That is the point of having a bespoke (or 'custom written') Viezu tune rather than an off the shelf one - aside from the fact it's perfect for your car, fully insured tuning, with 24/7, 364 day backup and technical support, advice and assistance along with our money back guarantees of course.
No more having an off the shelf tune and 'hoping' it doesn't throw a CEL with whatever mod you have. Mods are written into the coding perfectly to get the very best out of the modification/s and your car.
Our levels of tune are also not hardware mod dependent:
A Viezu-map 'Performance' tune, when coupled to our (uk region) Chamber of Commerce Award winning 'Blue Optimize' program (take an Aston V8 Vantage, give it 20+Hp and cut its emissions by 50%, type technology) will give you best economy yet our famous smooth linear increased performance.
A Viezu-map Performance tune gives harder acceleration gains and numbers and should not affect economy - in fact it is usually better than stock.
A Viezu-map Motorsport tune will be seriously quick, harder, even more responsive, still fully insured, and should not use more fuel under normal driving but if you're thrashing it to within an inch of its life then it can use a little more.
That being said I run a race map on my own car every day of its life and it's more eco than stock - and I must say, indecently fast...
So my point is this - it doesn't matter what level of tune you ask for with us as Viezu write it to your bespoke requirements. You can have mods with any level - they are still written into the coding perfectly. No more "I want a stage 2 but I need an intercooler, dump pipe and CAI or vice-versa".
Furthermore - how many KM the car has done is important. If it's off the shelf and your car has done 150,000Km - Viezu are not going to send a max-it-insured bespoke map for it - they have to take account of the wear of an engine and components to stand by the international ISO Quality assurance and their tuning insurance. So the tuning may need to be taken back a little if it's a high miler, for example. Tuners offering 'off the shelf' does not take this into account of course.
Take our Golf (5) GTi Mapping as a classic example - no mods at all (if you add mods, we write them in, and they just go faster): Performance level of tune 40hp, 85Nm. Motorsport level 70hp, 100Nm. No mods, on normal 98 octane. And we do race mapping harder than that - it's not that we can't get more. These things will safely take 25PSi and more on a hard-map. Even more boost and 100Hp is not out of the question on a dyno - but the reality is that it is, as the temps can't be controlled.
Another example - the new 3.0 CDI (3.0 Bi-turbo diesel Merc engine, 225hp stock, 540Nm) we were already market leading on our performance tune level - but the R&D centre just developed a latest evolution of mapping for it - 87hp and 260 Nm. That makes these things 310+hp 800Nm rocket ships. No mods, but if the owner wants to add mods then we write them in, perfectly, whatever the list.
Enough of me rambling on anyway - but always happy to clarify anything anyone wishes to know. The whole smoke and mirrors issue with tuning and misinformation on certain forums means it's a constant battle to get some truths out there. But please fire away and we will assist in any way we can.
Cheers
Simon

Hi Corey_R.
No - that's not the case at all with Viezu actually. That's what puts us in a different kettle of fish to those you mention.
It's not really the tune that won't really allow the fluctuations - it's more the ECU's ability to alter. Top of my head, this one can take 8% induction and 11% exhaust perfectly - but any more, and you need a bespoke written map from Viezu to get the best out of it. No more 'hoping' the CEL doesn't come on, or having a mod the ecu can't take full benefit of - just drop us a line and we'll get a custom written map out - we just need the product/s specs.
Whilst other tuners have a 'tune' they can sell, ours are custom written for the level of tune you require, whilst writing into the coding perfectly the exact mod list you have - regardless of what level that is. ie - you can still have a big bad exhaust which we can write into the coding even though you might only want our Chamber Of Commerce Award winning Blue Optimize Eco or Performance blend mapping levels of tune rather than true performance or motorsport. You don't have to go nuts and have motorsport levels with or without mods but if you so choose, then Viezu has it covered. Sure - we have to categorise a level of tune for expected gains (which come from our R&D programs) but Viezu have never been shouty shouty about the numbers games (which is why motorsport map levels are not quoted on websites) - sure we can match and better the best of them and have a special talent of doing this with torque figures over and above expectations but it's also why we dropped our latest hp gains on our 2nd R&D generation 'R' mapping down a little and boosted torque - and it's all over the rev range - it's why we also prefer 1/4 mile times than dyno read outs. See any R we've done - they're very low 13's just on a map, and that's without the free DSG light-remap we now throw in with the normal engine tune which allows faster, smoother gear shifts, and a harder Launch Control. Numbers don't necessarily equate to forward propulsion.
You're right though - always good to have an idea of where you want to end up - but a massive percentage of our clients first come wanted a remap and don't have mods. Then when they get chatting to us they like the sound of a dump pipe (which are the next best addition to the 'R' models after our Mapping). Then before you know it they have a full exhaust and dump pipe, CAI, high capacity coil packs, upgraded sparks, HPFP, bigger intercoolers, and as they've decided to make it as quick as they can, change from a Performance Map to a Motorsport map - but again - custom written for their exact requirements and bespoke mod list...

Thanks for the very informative reply Simon. I really like the fact that you custom write the tune files with respect to the hardware modifications as I'd very much prefer that over relying on the ECU to learn or adapt to the mod.

Never a problem. You're exactly right. Custom tuning is why we're here. Guaranteed written in-house tuning files for the exact ECU read file, requirements of the owner, and mod lists. It's why we can offer blend files (more important of Diesel engines) we can do anything from Max Eco to performance to max-motorsport or a blend, to any percentage, in between any of them Couple that with our Blue Optimize technology and you'll have a BMW 330d with 40hp and 130Nm yet kicks out 60% less emissions..... that sort of thing.
We also offer (for the lifetime of your ownership of the vehicle) free mapping in the event a service centre flashes an update onto the vehicle at any point. You shouldn't just stick the old tune file back on as that then makes it non-custom for the car (and could cause potential issues if there were to be a warranty claim for example - if the ECU doesn't read as having the latest flash updates you could face a problem) So - for free - we take another 'read' file of your latest ecu flash coding and provide another new custom written file for the exact read file and mod list - even if you've added further mods by this point and not had them written in - it's all taken into account again and you will have a new tune file installed.....
Feel free to drop me an email and I can discuss in greater detail if you like.
Cheers
