Hi Simon - thanks for the reply.

Just so I've got this right.... it's a custom retune, but I'm able to switch tunes as I want? And with that - I also get a variety of maps to choose from? Performance, stock, valet mode - etc.

And how do you say the company name? "Vee-zu", "Veye-zu", "Veiwz"? etc

    Hi DreamensioN

    No problem at all.

    It's "Vee-Zoo" !

Sure - if you are not in an area serviced by an Authorised Dealer we'd certainly suggest the V-Switch route as an option if it's compatible with your car. These hand held units are only basic read/write tools after all.

Our particular method with them is this:

    The unit arrives without files.
You install the unit to your PC/Laptop.
You take the 'read' file from your car via the OBD port.
You email us that file with your requirements and spec of the vehicle/mods etc
We liaise with our technical centre who prepare your bespoke mod files
We email these back to you
You save them on the unit
You can then use the device to map your own vehicle as you wish.
If your car service centre flash an update on your car at service time we need a new read file and will supply further mod files again (free of charge for the lifetime of your ownership)

The unit then contains your own original read stock file (not a generic stock library file for that car/ecu which is important for a variety of reasons) and up to two Mod files, from Valet mode / Max Eco / any blend / towing torque requirements, Blue Optimize Emissions reduction and blends, Performance, stage 2 motorsport (and for some vehicles, true max-it-race tunes which are not insured). Viezu do R&D work for some of the biggest players at the highest of levels in the motor industry and are official tuners to the likes of Oakley Design Ferrari, Ducati and Porsche and their race vehicles, for example.

    Hope that assists for now,

    Cheers

    Simon

For what its worth, even on older ECUs, I have been able to reprogram them close to 100 times so far with no issue.
Good to hear as burning our ECUs on Subies is not an experience I'd like to experience again.

As far as I'm aware it's only on an anti-tune tricore ECU you can only flash it incorrectly (ie with a wrong file or bad voltage) that then fails during the flash process - 3 times - then the ECU is locked out permanently. Upon a successful flash the 3 attempts rule re-instates.

    Hope that helps.

Bottom line is no - Golf 'R' - don't worry.

Hand held devices don't work on the anti tune motors of course in any event.

According to the viezu website, 53kw gain can be achieved for MK6 GTI & R. This seems to conflict with the data that the "vehicle, model search" reveals.

    Hi Brimway

the site says GTi and R rather than GTi (6) - it's the Mark 5 which will see those gains not the 6 (as I've stated in the above posts) but in any event:

Essentially the widgets are only currently available for economy and performance stage one mapping. In the throws are Blue Optimize widgets and we're working on stage two motorsport mapping figures widgets for the websites however because Viezu are such a massive specialist brand there are many thousands of vehicles covered so this will take some time. So the stage two tunes will have to be email enquiry (sales@viezuaustralia.com.au) for now please to ensure a quick response.

On our home forum page on here in a few days I'll put some popular examples though for everyone in the mean time.

    Hope this assists

    Cheers

    Hi lavna

It would be good to see how much quicker it'll go now with the LC fettling on the mapping for sure... One of the other guys say 5.7s 0-100 stock is now 4.7s with Viezu-map and 4.17s for the dump pipe a new bespoke Viezu-map 0-100 which is crazy - so we'll be getting together some package deals in the coming weeks so if you're keen drop us an email for sure !

Mmmmm, I am feeling the urge to mod, even after saying I wouldn't (resisted with the GTI)

    MY12 with DSG and 5,000km

Any likely issues that have been mentioned elsewhere - DSG impact, dealer servicing, Iongevity ?????

You & me both! I spent THOUSANDS getting the last car I had previously into the 13 second bracket. Now I can do it with a simple re-flash. I think this tune will be a present to myself after I pass my next 2 Microsoft exams.
