    Hi SpeedGTi

Apologies for the delay - although I think I might have emailed you too by now...?

From our testing here on the MED17 ecu's the remote tuning device doesn't work with them. However with Dealers starting all over Australia we'll be able to flash it one way or another.

    Where are you based ?

    Cheers

The standard Viezu tune for the Golf 118 TSI offers increases of 30bhp and a whopping 60Nm

Hi rockDAhouse - For sure - as jrobbo says - 30hp and a smooth, strong 60Nm with lovely responses thrown in. Viezu love torque and won't sacrifice it for another few hp top end. We can go a little harder on a motorsport map but not much on these engines. You'll love teh performance mapping level though - slick, smooth, economic, mechanically sympathetic etc etc etc...

Bounce me an email and let us know where you are based please - we now have Tigersoft, our new main VIC Approved Dealer, about to go live with Brisbane any day now, and more to come.

    Cheers

    Definite GIAC for me..

I've tried 6 different tuners over the years and seem to be the only one that adapts to your changes/modifications and overall drivability and better power/torque results.

What exactly do you mean by this?

Hi John how are you mate? Not spoken to you for ages How's life in Melbourne ?

I'm not sure why you query this but I'll have a stab...

Viezu's normal ethos for levels of tune mean they don't normally sacrifice torque for the sake of a few hp top end - I think speaks for itself. Although I'm talking about their recommended performance levels of tune of course. And even many of the motorsport maps for that matter. Take the latest 'R' mapping which is a monster across the rev range (and so it should be with 110Nm on tap pretty much across the whole of it, with no lag.). Same story with the (5) GTi with 70hp and 100Nm - crazy fast from step off - and ballistic top end. That's a 21psi monster - still fully insured, naturally, but even the normal performance level of tune has 85 Nm on the GTi Golfs.

Viezu are well known for their torquey mapping. It's why, I'm sure, a client's 'R' ran a 12.8s down the quarter last weekend just off the mapping. He doesn't even have a sports air filter. He's well down into the 4's on 0-100 too.

However - Take the R32 Golf we did this week - the previous bespoke map required from the client was "just make it as ballistic top end and as aggressive as possible for a true race map" so we obliged - so there are instances, where clients may ask for specific mapping where lower down torque can buck the trend. This was different, even, to our normal motorsport level of tune (which is generally hardcore across the revs). He wasn't worried about bottom end at all so I doubt this would be much quicker than stock below 4k however above that client reports it's an absolute animal to the red line. Mission accomplished then

Some other engines - certain older turbo's for an example - take the old 1.9tdi VAG engine for example - the motorsport map is more about top end and low torque will not be as good. Viezu recommend their Performance map as the best of all worlds - economy, performance, torque/spread' bhp increases so won't give a few more HP top end normally to sacrifice torque punch and spread lower down and across the revs. But on those we can still go harder with motorsport mapping and more top end on that particular engine will mean less punch very low down. But then again after all it's a motorsport map so you want top end. It depends on client's expectations, requirements, mod list etc etc etc. All options are gone through with clients of course prior to mapping level and type selection.

I personally run a "max-the-nuts-off-it-all-over-the-revs" map on my Porsche and I can tell you it's savage punch all over. I only have a BMC filter too with the map. Although it's about to get full headers/200cell cats/full sports system which I'm told is good for another 55hp but we'll see. We're doing before and after on the dyno as a lot of our Porsche clients want a similar system to the one I'm getting myself and an new custom Viezu -Map to write in the most out of the mods.

And GAVS ! We did a Polo GTi saturday night as we had a client's motor in for our Brisbane Dealer's Bench Tuning training. Seriously - these things are fast ! What a lovely motor. BMC filter and a max torque/performance map with more mods to come - client's well happy. And so he should be - it's savage. Torque steers a bit but it just doesn't let up - torque from step off and just gets harder and faster. Seriously impressed - I now have one of these on the 'cars to buy for demo' list too ! Very impressed. Anyone want to sell a White one - let us know we're on the lookout for one.

Anyway enough crashing this thread I'll stop there.

Anyway can drop us an enquiry on sales@viezuaustralia.com.au and we'll be happy to assist of course.

    Cheers

    Simon
