Viezu or GIAC stage 2 tune

Hi im new to this forum and just got a new Golf mk 6 gti 2.0 tsi . Very indecisive on which tune to go, been doing research between REVO,APR,GIAC and VIEZU and have come down to GIAC or VIEZU. Whats important to me is the power output out of the tunes, i know that GIAC is know for its aggressive tune but VIEZU, i cant seem to find anyone who has it on there golf gti mk 6 to see the power output. Does anyone know the figures for GIAC and VIEZU for a stage 2 tune. And can anyone give me pros and cons of each.

    thanks

From past dyno days Ive seen GIAC powered stage 2 MK6 GTIs put down between 165 and 175kw at the wheels. Figures will vary from dyno to dyno though but in comparison as you know GIAC figures are usually up there with the best.
Keep in mind its not all about peak power though. Its about getting nice power figures without sacrificing smooth drivability.

RRP of the tune is $1095 inc GST and can be performed after business hours if it is difficult for you to get to a workshop during the day.

Sweet thanks, just hard to decide with so many tunes out there. But i'm just deciding which one is "bang for my buck" in terms of power, i know its about the drivability but seems like no tunes so far have trouble at the moment as far as i know. How easy is it to switch between tunes?

Not many folk have tried multiple tunes on the same car. Changing between them is a case of paying your money. Do you have a money tree?

If you are referring to switching back to stock map then with GIAC it is an optional extra as a lot of people prefer the savings vs having the extra capability.

Heres a video with cheesy porno music that demonstrates how it all works.

suggest researching them individually and doing some reading... have sent a pm with my direct thoughts and knowledge gained from talking to many. GIAC is customised and performance orientated, APR has great performance and has strong development but you pay for it, Viezu is new to Oz but claims excellent reduction in emissions...

Yeah the only reason i want to be able to switch between tunes as in from stock to the race mode for GIAC, is because of the warranty of 3 years with volkswagen. Has anyone tried leaving the tune there without changing it back for a service? did the warranty become void after that? Yeah Viezu is still new which is why its hard to find info about it, only thread on here is the golf R with the tune and have admitted great results just wanted to see how it matches up against GIAC.

Viezu is new to AUSTRALIA, yes... but they've been tuning cars for more than 20 years...

look up "chippedUK" - the name they used to sell their tunes under before calling themselves Viezu - jason, the owner of chippeduk, decided to devote his efforts and the chippeduk brand to race development in the various racing series in the UK, and as such they started Viezu to deal primarily with consumer car tuning. people might argue that they are different companies, but the two have the same address, same admin contact details, and use the same in house dyno to tune their cars and develop their maps, last i saw.

and yes, Viezu has switchable maps via the "v-switch" - stock, plus two other maps.

^^^ Plus, on top of what scott said, those maps are customisable by Viezu HQ to EXACTLY what you want, not a "generic" (hard to call an aftermarket tune generic), off-the-shelf tune. You want more low end torque? They will re-write the map. You want a bit more of a blend between the economy over the fast-road map? They can alter that too. You have aftermarket goodies installed to help your engine breath / expel gasses better? Tell them that and they will re-write the map(s) to suit.

If you want more info regarding Viezu, Simon who runs Viezu Australia is a really nice guy, knows his stuff and if he can't answer directly, will ask HQ in the UK and pass it on.
