    V-Checker for dummies

    Hi guys,

I'm new to the dub scene and have heard of the V-Checker device which sounds pretty useful.

Anyway looking up the official website there seems to be two different models that do roughly the same thing:

    http://www.vchecker.com/vchecker-vwa...6fca71af1d85d5 $95 US

    and

    http://www.vchecker.com/vchecker-obd...6fca71af1d85d5 $85 US

Anyone help me explain the differences?

    Thanks

From what I can gather, the first one you listed is specific to the VAG (VW and Audi) products so has the correct names for modules, fault codes, descriptions and little how to guides on various things.
The second one is a generic unit for any vehicle running OBD2 and/or CAN-BUS communications. This unit will return most likely just the generic faults that the protocol outlines and you will have to look them up elsewhere for your vehicle to specify what exactly they mean.
Send Fuzion a PM as he shipped quite a few of these over and did a group buy on here. It's a great little unit for help with diagnosis etc that is easy to use and is nice and compact.
    Cheers,
    Trent
