Thread: TurboXS Dump Pipe and Recode Tuning for Golf R

  1. #101

I have to choose the runs to print out and there are quite a lot most will be pretty similar. I usually do 8 runs per modified file, 6 minimum plus ones where I have screwed up due the kickdown switch, traction control, gear selected etc etc.... Doh !
Edit: that's actually a crap run to put up as the top end in yours is pretty flat sloping off ATM

    Great results Mark.

    Quick update with mine.

Had my TurboXS DP & Cat installed during the week, replacing the APR DP.

Will be logging this week and GIAC will be tweaking the file in light of the hardware changes made.

Had a before and after dyno run done on a mainline dyno, tune unchanged .

    What were the results?
Golf R - 77TSI engine transplant, 91ron tune, & a crochet rug on the parcel shelf

Fab - no offence, but you have spend sooo much cash on this car and changing tunes and parts etc etc.. You are obviously not short of a dollar. Why dont you just strap a Garret GT30 / GT32 / GT35 or something onto a custom manifold, get Recode to tune it and get the thing pulling 250-260 kw at the wheels. Then you'll be doing a 12 flat down the quarter. There will be no need for more power.

GT35 should be alot more than a mere 260 ..................

It would do an 11 no problem perhaps even a high 10 with the DSG.
The thing is you lose the round town driveability as its a bit of a dog off boost. There are some newer GTX turbos though and theres Borgwarner options too and I'm trying to resist going down this path yet again .
You need to find some TFSI injectors capable of supplying the fuel too so it gets a bit expensive

Nah will never go down the path of a bigger turbo.

I like the day to day driveability and no lag of my setup.
Its my daily driver, and as Mark mentioned above, i dont want a dog off boost

Its believed with my set up, and stock KO4, the right conditions and race fuel its capable of breaking the into the 11's.

The thing is quick enough for me as it is now. Im very happy with it.

ou'd never buy the GT28, laggy POS, either a 3071 with a larger turbine housing or perhaps the 3076 with a .78 or .86 . If you did this with a DSG you'd need a full DSG remap and new clutch packs
