It all comes down to personal preference... I would expect most tunes to be of similar gains these days...the torque / power curves may be a little different which will affect drivability but overall gains (bragging rights) would not be much different and will to a large extent be determined by the intake and exhaust you run... so many different combinations.
I have had 2 different tunes in mine and I am extremely happy with the APR Stage 1 tune I have in now.. the previous tune was Viezu and at the time I didn't think it met the same standard as the APR... 3 years down the track it could well be different.
What you want is to have a tune that matches your car... I am not sure if they determine a Manual vs DSG in the tune itself but I would expect there to be some differences... most likely in the Torque delivery but you would need to ask the various suppliers about that.
In the end.... the car really starts to shine with a stage 1 tune... so I say go for it... as long as it is a long term supplier (DNA are well respected) you won't have any issues.
