    Tunes for syd drivers

    Hi all

I'm in Sydney and looking at tunes so far DNA stands out on price but I'm confused why all the others charge so much more for same gains, upgrade flexibility and smoothness.

I've noticed john@dna takes several days to quote and send the equipment vs others who can get you quoted, tunes with stage1 and out in 1 hour.

I'm curious if anyone with one tune has driven a car with another tune and has seen a noticeable difference ?

    P.s I drive a scirocco r man.

It all comes down to personal preference... I would expect most tunes to be of similar gains these days...the torque / power curves may be a little different which will affect drivability but overall gains (bragging rights) would not be much different and will to a large extent be determined by the intake and exhaust you run... so many different combinations.

I have had 2 different tunes in mine and I am extremely happy with the APR Stage 1 tune I have in now.. the previous tune was Viezu and at the time I didn't think it met the same standard as the APR... 3 years down the track it could well be different.

What you want is to have a tune that matches your car... I am not sure if they determine a Manual vs DSG in the tune itself but I would expect there to be some differences... most likely in the Torque delivery but you would need to ask the various suppliers about that.

In the end.... the car really starts to shine with a stage 1 tune... so I say go for it... as long as it is a long term supplier (DNA are well respected) you won't have any issues.

I would look into Recode tuning, custom tune with fantastic results. Nothing but positive reviews on forums. I'm in melb and have APR myself so nothing to gain by recommending Mark at recode!

Good choice - you wont regret a DNA tune. My previous Mk6 Golf R (same engine as your Rocco) was tuned with DNA (stage 1 and then later stage 3) and i was very happy with it and it had very strong results on the dyno.

My current car, a Mk6 GTI is also tuned with DNA (stage 2) and i am also very happy with it, i will stick with DNA for my future cars as long as they can tune it.
