See Dean @ Volkspower - 03 9808 6777. Depending on what model you have, he can install Oettinger whilst you wait!

If you must have a Melboune tuner, also check DNA Tuning - John is great guy offers great support at very reasonable prices.

If your Golf is a MkV and you are willing to buy a tuning product from out of state, Viezu have great pricing for their switching unit (they call it the V-Switch but its the Alientech PowerGate unit used by many tuning companies). I have one for my Polo TDi and can switch between 3 (+ stock) remaps.

    Or there's SuperChips. CustomCode..

Is it worthwhile? I'd say DEFINITELY. I gained power, usable rev range, drivability and economy (when not hammering it).

all tuners in above post are much more reasonably priced than Oettinger, whilst giving the same outcome....

GIAC also does diesel tuning I believe.

I personally have Custom Code (PM h100vw for more details) and I can't speak highly of it enough! Pulls so much harder, also in my car smoothed out the lumpy OEM torque curve and my fuel economy got better (havent taken it for a decent highway trip yet)

Whoever you decide to go with, you wont regret it

To be fair, Oettinger offers a drivetrain warranty with their ecu tunes, I suspect that would contribute to the extra cost.
MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.

true. Will give it that. Still for the price difference you could go a long way to fixing it yourself (unless its REALLY dire)

Depending on what model, the regular 4 cylinder diesel is $1450 (installed & including GST), which includes the warranty - currently covers over $12,000 per claim on engine / transmission / drivetrain.

Can't speak for the others, but that is Oettinger.

Although not an ecu tune, I installed a decent 'power box', the difference it made to torque and economy was well worth it. It alters the injector duration, doesn't change boost levels. Picked it up used for a couple of hundred bucks.

    PSI motorsport : Diesel Tuning

The turbo in the 103kw model has been known to go pop when boost levels are increased, however I believe most tuners have arrived at a safer level of boost with their tunes these days than what may have been used in the past.
