    That's a shame...
Stage 1 on the GTI = Awesome (thanks to the K03 I guess)
Stage 1 on the R = alright, but just not enough in the rev range you spend most of the time in on the public roads (<4000rpm, thanks to the K04).
Stage 2 on the GTI = Better than the Stage 1, but nowhere near the jump that S1 was from stock.
    Stage 2 on the R = Awesome.

In all honesty, if I wasn't intending to have gone for a Stage II setup from the start with the R, and I'd test driven a Stage 1 R before buying, then I would've bought a GTI!

Incorrect. There are many cars in Australia that cannot be done via OBD port as they simply do not have a K-Line.

    -------------------

Viezu reset the flash counter - and guarantee the tunes are undetectable...

What is the guarantee? What does it cover? Give me a car and I will be able to detect if it is tuned or not. - Main Dealers can do the same. There is more than one flash counter built into modern VAG cars.

EU spec cars have the anti tunes too - from mid/late 2010 onwards. If there are no anti-tune ECU's in Australia then that's the best news ever

We have anti-tuning VAG ecus from May 2009. Some VAG cars have them and some VAG petrols have not. I am nearly sure that is the same with Australia.

Med9 uses CAN bus not K-line. The flash counters are stored in another area of the ECU that isnt the same as the area where the engine 'maps' are located and not many SPI interfaces can write to the area where the counter is located so if you use BDM then you do have access if your software permits. I doubt if the unit above has that capability either. Many people think or are told they do when in reality they don't.
Anyway, It's all negated by the fact that I can buy an $80 cable and see within a minute or two whether the ECU contains a modified file OR if the entry point has been modified (giving a security code error). So even if you can modify the counter it's easily exposed.

On some later VAG cars the flash counter is actually stored in the instrument cluster module.

As for the the canbus & k-lines I was responding to this claim - Also no australian cars should have to have the ecu removed, the high security is only on US models, every australian model can be flashed via obd.

I wish him best of luck trying to flash a Volkswagen Crafter via OBD for example. There are many other cars that cannot be done via OBD.

Guys, can you please start learning how to use the quotes properly...

I'd go through and edit all this to fix it up, but since it's a discussion between tuner people, I don't want to be accused of misediting anything...

Hi Lucas, I'm interested in a stage 1 too. Have you finally bought the Bluefin ?
