The peak power looks good; but it appears the torque jumps around quite noticeably - in fact it would seem as though there are no gains until 5000rpm onwards?

May be worth sending that dyno chart and AFR data to Superchips and see if they can send you a revised tune as they seem pretty good with improving on their software from what I've seen and read. Lambda should not be dipping down to the 0.7x's for sure, and it looks like the boost is overshooting slightly in the beginning; boost control is difficult on the Golf R as the results can vary from one car to another but regardless it should be at least looked in to.

Thanks for your advice John - im still learning how to read the dyno data and understand how it all fits together. I may infact contact Superchips like you have suggested to see what they think - and see if they can tweak the tune.

PS - my younger brother just purchased a Skoda Fabia 77TSI and i recommended DNA Tuning to him. I believe he has been emailing you recently about getting it tuned. His name is Mitchell. It wont be long and he will be keen to get your 100kw/220nm tune package. He is just wanting to get the first 1,000 - 1,500km on the car to run it in. I believe the ECU needs to be removed for the tune to be carried out? Looks like he will be borrowing my car for a few days then...

The ECU should not have to be removed (none of the 77TSI's I have upgraded so far have needed to); it's just that VW have recently introduced a couple of new revisions of the Siemens SIMOS 10.x modules which my tuning tools are unable to communicate with for the moment - but development is happening as we speak and hopefully will be ready by early next year.

In the event that the ECU will need to be benchflashed, I have all the equipment anyway so one way or another we have a solution for his tuning needs. I will keep your brother informed of any progress. =) Cheers for recommending me to him.

I just purchased the Stage 2 file today after speaking to Superchips back and forth over the past few days. You need to do it via the UK website and via the Audi S3 area (rather than the Golf R area). See link here for the Stage 2 software >> http://www.superchips.co.uk/search?m...3&variant=2124

Cost for the stage 2 file is normally 50 pounds, but they have a 20% off sale until Christmas which means it comes down to 42 pounds ($65 AUD).

Im trying to download the new file as we speak. It recommends for you to have the following: Stage 2 software is available to any S3 Bluefin customers with the extra parts listed below:

Good quality Replacement Sports-Cat (optional Full Exhaust System), filter/induction kit.

    Thanks for the info

Did you replace the recommended parts? IF so, what brand did you go with?

I have the new intake (VW Racing) but havent got the dump pipe yet (wont be too long). The guy from Superchips said that the car will be fine to run the stage 2 tune as is, but will be better with the dump pipe.

I loaded up the stage 2 file late last night but havent driven the car yet. I'll drive it tomorrow and report back on how it feels.

Hey Lucas, any news on how it went with the stage 2? Im eagerly awaiting your feedback cos Im on the verge of doing it myself... although I will not replace the CAI because I do not want to remove the engine cover. Im just going with a VW Racing filter and a Hitech DP & Cat.

Yes i drove the car on Saturday after loading up the stage 2 tune. Its now running another 3 PSI (max of 20 instead of 17 now) and feels more powerful than when on the stage 1 file. Hopefully when i get the downpipe it will be even better. Still comes on strong at about 2,500rpm but has even more top end now.

How much did your Hitech downpipe item cost? Do you like it?

Also, after a bit of a spirited drive, my exhaust tips were still clean - which means its running leaner than before. With the stage 1 tune, my exhaust tips would get dirty quite quickly even when driving sedately. I'll have to get it back to the dyno in a few weeks to see.

Getting the stage 2 file is a bit of a process. I had to guess what to do as there are no instructions. I had to load the stock file back onto the car, then "Connect" so that it sent my stage 1 file back to Superchips. Then about an hour later, i got the email to say i had a file to download. No description about whether its a stage 2 file of whatever. Downloaded it from Superchips, then uploaded it onto the car.

I received the VWR air filter today and installed it. Engine cover is annoying, can't get the rear clips back on!

Anyway I installed the Stage 2 Bluefin and went for a little drive, still haven't done the Hitech DP & Cat, but the car is pulling a little better than
stage 1. The Hitech DP & cat will cost $890 once installed I'll let you know how it is. Have you done yours yet?
