Thread: Superchips Bluefin Remap for my Skoda is Rubbish!

  1. #61

Meeting up with a guy from sydney (His name is Brad - very nice guy by the phone call I had with him. Not sure of the Tuning shop he works for.)after referral from Peter who is going to log everything for me and look at the tune file to see what is going on. that is happening on Tuesday.

Will post back here after I have some hard results after the logging.

If nothing comes of that Superchips wise, I will be looking for my money back and sending my business to this guy I think.

So what is the latest on this one, it has gone quiet for a while. Is the car up and running like it should now?

It's a shame that this experience has put you off tuning.
I hope that at some point you'd reconsider and give a reputable local VW specialist a call and look into this again.

Being that you're in Sydney, you're very lucky because we've got several options:
Derek @ European Autotech for APR and Oettinger (who provide an optional drivetrain warranty on the tune btw).
    Arthur @ Exoticars for GIAC
Alessio @ City Performance Centre for Evolve Technik and HPA

All of these guys also have arguably better knowledge in servicing and maintaining our VW's than the service centres are your local dealers.

In addition to the "World-wide name brands" above, you've also got a few rather competent local custom tuners, including
Mark @ ReCode Performance Tuning - who is parso_rex who offered to help you a few times in this thread.

So with a wealth of local knowledge and quality products right on your doorstep, it'd be a shame to let this experience hold you back.

It hasn't put me off tuning as such, but off handheld device tuning it has.

Down the track i'm sure i will go to one of these places but after all the headache that this has caused, i highly doubt i will go that tuning path again.

I ve had my VRs Octavia Superchiped for months now with no problems other than an slighly rough idle until warm and a (to be expected) increase in consumption. The extra torque is very noticable. I dont recall any transmission choices when downloading the tune file.
