Superchips Bluefin Remap for my Skoda is Rubbish!

    Hey guys,

received my bluefin today and started the process of downloading my factory map, uploading to superchips, and installing remap to the car.

took it out nice and easy for the car to warm up and get used to the new tune. After 15 mins of easy part throttle driving, all was smooth and no problems at all.

After finding a bit of open road i went to accelerate and immediate shuddering/banging/pinging/retarding. Not being that way minded, i dont know what exactly it is, all i know is that it shouldnt be doing this.

Any sort of rolling acceleration provokes this and makes the car undriveable. i did a few wide open throttle runs from standstill and all seemed fine, one or two minor shudders between gears but felt really good.

The problem seems to be between 1500rpm and 4000rpm. only seems to be from rolling acceleration.

has anyone else had this problem after installing their superchips remap??

    any ideas or previous experiences??

Sorry to hear you think the tune is "rubbish" not sure who sold it to you but they should have mentioned it will take a few days to relearn completely. First up shluld be good, but wont be optimum till it has fully relearnt. Done a few Skodas with no problem and there is a few done on here. None of which have had this issue. Talk to your Rep and they will talk to Superchips UK and have the Map redone if need be, i would also set back to standard and do some logs on your car too, you rep should be able to do that. Hopefully your friendly seller can help you out and iron out the "rubbish" tune

I agree with Gavin's advice. At this stage I think it's a bit premature to say that the Superchips Remap is rubbish. Often what happens when installing an aftermarket flash is that it "highlights" or even "uncovers" an existing problem which isn't evident when you have the standard mapping. I'm not saying that it's definitely the case here, as there are all sorts of things which could be going on, but we see that far far far more often than any actual problem with the aftermarket ECU.

Sorry, I am frustrated and probably being a bit over the top. Rubbish is uncalled for as i can feel the potential of the tune is definitely there.

I am just wondering if this is "normal" for the ECU to take this long to learn it or if there is something wrong with the map they sent me.

I apologise for my comment to you and Superchips. I have been excited to have this come and been a bit of a "let down" as my understanding was that it was plug and play, no fuss and all fun.

    Sorry

I totally understand your frustration, and if i can help at all i will mate. You are right it is a plug and play really, it should be "good" from the get go and only get better till it has relearnt totally. Please let your seller know , he may have to log your vehicle and also see/ feel what it is doing. A remap may be called for. To be honest if you pulled the file from your car and sent it to the Mainframe in the UK it should have spat you the correct tune for your ECU. please let your seller know as soon as you can mate and he/she can get it fixed asap. On standard mode i would be tempted to have it logged just to make sure there wasnt anything underlying before the remap was done

My Reseller is Peter James from Superchips NZ, so i dont thing he will be able to see/feel how it is! thats who i was directed to/replied to my brochure request from the Superchips.com.au website.

I have just sent him an email with what is going on so I will await his reply.

Is there anything else i can do? does resending my factory tune to the superchips server do anything? will they send the same file back or is it a one time only thing?

    Sorry for all the questions.

ok Superchips have just sent me a second email and text message, stating "Customer Name: XXXXX XXXXXXX Serial Number: XXXXXX
Your Superchip remap is ready to download"

this was after i emailed them explaining the issue i was having. do you think this may be a different tune? or just a delay of some sort?

I have no other indication other than what i quoted above.
