    Superchips

Hi. Anyone had any trouble with the bluefin superchip for the MK 6 golf GTI. Think I Will go with it unless someone puts me off it.

The only thing I have heard from Superchips is that some of the Mark 6 Golf GTI ECUs have been encrypted so that a Bluefin might not work, but Superchips can apply the changes directly to the ECU.

I have a mate in Brissy and he had his Mark 6 GTI upgraded by Superchips and his was not excrypted so you might be the same.

Since you are in Brisbane i would definitely look into Viezu as Greg is local to Brisbane and loves the VW scene.
It is a unique tune for your car as well and is very simple to perform.

Alternatively there is APR but you pay more for that one.

APR for the win! Sure you pay more, but you get the best torque (400nm +) and is the most advanced on the market from my research - they only specialise in VAG cars so know those ECUs better than anyone else. And it is undetectable (which I am not sure if superchips is)

See this discussion on tuning for extra info.

I Bluefinned my car about 2-3 months ago and haven't had any issues whatsoever.
The process was easy to run through, and the car's been great ever since.

I don't think any of the GTI's coming to Australia have any of the encryption, but I could be wrong.

Talk to Jimmy from Alba European the local Brissy Superchips dealer, and by far the best VAG mechanic in Brisbane. From what I know the MK6 GTi is anti tune, so a pull outjane tune on the bench, but I have yet to do one, seem to just be doing exotics!

Custom-Code write software based on a read of the ECU. As do most tuners. It would be impossible to have off the shelf tunes for every ECU that comes out of the factory.

I am based in Brisbane too.

Hey Greg not all bench jobs mate, some are very much Bluefin able, done a few, and some Rss. More of the diesels are encrypted. If encrypted then yes its a bench job. Same result, takes longer and not as easy to switch back if need be like the Bluefin. Best idea is to have the ECU read, or even if you are keen buy a Bluefin and ill refund you in full if it doesnt load up, i have them in stock

    Cheers

i think by far superchips is the most value of money tune among others. I still can't made up my mind which one to get.
The one that I'm after need to have a handset for ease of changing the tune back to stock and of course not breaking my bank.
