I do not believe they are a gimmick. They seem to do exactly as advertised.

To be fair to sprintbooster it is mostly the users of their product who give it a bad name with claims like improved fuel economy, faster 0 to 100 times etc. I think as long as you realise the module is only doing what manufacturers often change deliberately between model change overs and between different trim specifications in order to achieve their desired "feel" to how the car's accelerator responds to input you will be fine. It cannot magically speed up the data transmission rate achievable between the accelerator pedal, the ECU and the throttle body and/or injectors...only adjusts the actual data being sent.

Some guys love it but if you have a decent tune on your car where the low end torque is maximised then really the device becomes almost pointless.
The other thing I don't like is a device that messes with the stock DBW setup to me that opening up a point of failure that would otherwise not be there, luckily there are a few fail-safes to hopefully detect invalid values should say the SB start spitting out rubbish.
save the $ and spend it on a tune then decide

I've got one, it did what it promised, got rid of pedal lag. The increased pedal sensitivity along with the tuned supercharged engine makes for an impressive drive.

Ok. Thanks to all for the feedback. I can't really get much drive experience benefit from tuning because I have a v6. That's why I was curious about this alternative.

Do it. You won't regret it.

Yes, everyone who got the sprintbooster is happy with it, so don't go by what people who don't use it got to say about it.
The real users reviews and comments are more valuable than the negative comments of those (incl. me) that didn't try it.

...or if you have a friend with the one fitted, ask himif you could try it.

Not true. Ive had one on my R32 and on my modded gti and I wouldn't even drive down the road, without it being on all the time. It makes the car feel more 'alive" and in touch with your foot.

Same here, the way the car sounds and behaves with SprintBooster on it's highest setting is not reproduceable without the SB adapter & just pushing your foot down harder.
