    Sprint Booster for manual Golf R

    I've been talking to Andy from partsexporter (as recommended by many on this forum) about getting a Sprint Booster for my Golf R with 6speed manual gearbox.

    Andy is quoting me part number SBDD201A which - from my understanding, is the one for automatic or DSG gearboxes.

    He assures me that this part number suits both manual and auto gearboxes, but the Sprint Booster catalogue clearly states that any part number with an "A" on the end is for an automatic model.

    Can anyone with a manual Mk6 Golf (TSI, TDI, GTI etc) who has a Sprint Booster let me know the part number of your Sprint Booster please.

    Thanks

    In the whitepaper, I read this section which was related to Merc Benz (MB):

    <SNIP>
    There are two Versions for MB. One is for automatic transmission
    models and one version is for manual transmission models. The part for
    manual transmission can only be installed in manual cars ,the part for
    automatic can be installed in automatic cars but also can be used in
    manual cars as a ''lighter'' version if someone wants the acceleration less
    sharp than the ''sharper'' manual version .
    <SNIP>

    So maybe it's something similar.

    it will fit both auto and manual, its just that the auto version is less responsive comparing to the manual sprint booster. mainly designed to better controll the kick down of gear in an auto.

    Thanks mate, I have ordered a manual version (SBDD201). Andy from Parts Explorer said that if i dont like it i can swap it for the auto/DSG version if i pay for the shipping.

    So i cant go wrong really.

    Installed the Sprintbooster today on my Golf R. I love it. As I was quite skeptical about the device - I did a fair few tests while driving it (from completely turned off and then through it's 2 different stages of adjustment). Tests such as 40kph acceleration in 2nd gear in all 3 modes, and 100kph accelleration in 5th gear in all 3 modes. It's also quicker to respond from a standing start - I've decided that the medium mode (green light) is the one for me.

    The car is now without a doubt more responsive (and faster to respond) to throttle movements.

    Part #SBDD201 for a manual transmission Mk6 Golf.

    Good to have some feedback from a manual driver. Thanks for the review and glad you are happy.
