Hi guys, I know this has been mentioned a lot around this forum but cant seem to find too much specific to Scirocco's. Just bought a 2013 Scirocco Manual and wanting to do a ECU upgrade. I have previously had APR on my 9N3 Polo Gti I was happy with that.
Just want to see what else is out there and if I should go APR again for $1125 on the Scirocco.
Any assistance is much appreciated
$1125 is cheaper than the Revo quote of $1250 I got locally (diff car but Stg 1 is practically the same for all VAG 2.0T).

Basically anything you have read for the Mk6 Golf R regarding tuning is applicable for the Scirocco R as they share the same engine.
Given you are in Sydney, you have many choices.
Entry level price = Bluefin Superchips. You can buy these locally for around $800 but you can source them from the UK for around $550-600 from Demon Tweeks. Decent stage 1 tunes but not as much power as more expensive tunes. Cheap Bluefin
Mid level Price = DNA Tuning. I can't recommend these guys enough after having both my cars tuned with them, as well as several friends and family members cars. Their stage 1 tune for the Golf R/Scirocco R is very strong. Cost approx $900 and comes with a hand controller so you can upload/remove the tune as you wish. See my dyno info here which is relevant in some way for you as my Golf R has the same engine as your Scirocco. DNA Tuning Australia's Golf R/Audi S3 Tuning Information
Higher level price = APR/Revo/GIAC. All these are around $1100-1200 depending on the shop you speak to. APR go see European Autotech in Mona Vale or Muller & Muller down south of the city. Revo i believe is VW Village at Kensington. GIAC is Exoticars at Parramatta.
Custom tune = Go see Mark at Recode in Miranda for a custom tune. This process is the most expensive and the most time consuming but will be the best overall result.

Just realise on the FWD Scirocco, you don't want a max Golf R tune, as you simply can't put the same power down from a standing start as the AWD Golf R. Every Scirocco I have tuned has tried the max "R" tune, and then settled for a specific, more mild linear tune down low as they can actually accelerate rather than spinning the wheels. You want a tune that takes the FWD into account, and rolls the torque in until you are up and away, where the rest of the powercurve can be the same.
