    Rings and bearings

    Hey guys,
I have taken out the rods and pistons to check the conrod bearings.
They are not bad, but i'll change them anyways.

    THe question remains...

Do i have to change piston rings if i take the piston out???

Do i need to get new conrod end cap bolts???

Do i need to touch the cylinder walls at all???

    Thankyou!

Mic the big ends and check for wear. You may need a grind.

    No but you should anyway.

Don't know which motor you're working on. New bolts if they're stretch!

Hone them to get the cross-hatch back.

    Thankyou!

    I agree with brakie
new stretch bolts for the con rods & you should get some for the head too.
new rings and bearings. you'll be up for a couple of hundred dollars but the bottom end should be brand spanker.
It's alot easier to do it all now then later
