Real world power/time figures for APR stage 1-ish MK6 GTI

    Hi guys & girls,

As the signature suggests, I have a MK6 GTI DSG with APR stage 1 ECU, and Carbonio CAI. Anyone with the same mods have real figures for the following? I am aware that my car now has "roughly" 200kW and 400Nm at the engine.

    1. kW (at the wheels and/or at the engine)
    2. Nm (as above)
    3. 0 - 100 km/h times
    4. 1/4 mile times

Dyno sheets would be great, but peak figures is fine if you don't have them handy.

It would be nice to see how much difference the tune and intake make to real world times. I know that it feels heaps faster, but it would only be a guess as to how much time it knocks off 0 - 100 times or 1/4 mile times.

0-100 times is mid to late 5s from my research - subject to wheelspin. In the real world, it feels very fast. 2nd to 3rd gear is the best representation of the difference IMO.

Best benchmark I think is my brother in laws BMW 335i - that is a late 5 sec car and I think an APR Stage 1 on a GTI now keeps up with it, or may be even quicker at lower gears due to less weight.

Its not very hard to find out
    Just go to the drags
everybodys car will be a bit different, but you cant say your cars does sinillar times until you actually put it down the track
the real dyno is a drag strip, take it and nobody can dispute your time
    Cheers

This may seem a little perverse, but as long as I can beat a late model HSV, I'm happy. Those people need to be put in their place :-P

The problem is that your asking other people what their cars run
Find out exactly how fast your car is at the strip it will tell you everything you need to know
Mine runs 13.4 at 105 miles an hour no one can dispute that i have time slips to prove it
If you change something on your car take it back to the strip and it will tell you if your making more popwer or not
    Cheers

So is your 13.4 just the stage 1 alone and nothing else. Road tyres too?

He has a Golf R (DSG) with a Viezu stage 1 map. Not a GTI.

Hi I do have a golf r and a viezu stage 1 map and im not saying its better than a gti
I just think that you would be better of finding out what your car actually does
Rather than asking what other peoples car do with the same tune as yours
You might find out that you car is faster
    Cheers

Absolutely. But most GTI drivers would be hard-pressed to get 13.4 @ 105 without some serious work (stage II +).

If a Golf R does 13.4, i'd say half a second more (given that torque is quite similar - 402 nm Vs 430nm) and torque is what counts here..
