Agreed here, new one is a cracker, way different to the old one. Well worth changing, will stuff up tuned or not. PCV a big fail item also. Had a few not quite throwing codes but with a smoke test found to be junk. These cars were running rough on cold start. Ones that are obvious will be running lean and idling high

    Cheers

Are you talking about DV or PCV here?

As in, the older style OEM VW ones were/are no good and would throw smoke?

I have not found new OEM VW PCVs on any of the mainstream VAG tuning sites? Where can you get them? Plus, Dubaddiction is out of DV's... bummer

In terms of OEM VW PCV's Guy, is this what I should be looking at:
    Volkswagen Golf V 2.0T > Engine > Emission > ES#8210 Breather Update Kit - 06F198203
    or this:
    Volkswagen Golf V 2.0T > Engine > Emission > ES#8209 Breather Update Kit - 06F198202

Just need to check which one will work for your engine. They should be able to let you know before ordering.

OK. So it took me a while to get around to all of this. Now that the car is stage 1 tuned I'm wanting to replace the DV and PCV. I've got the latest revision DV no worries. But I've got some confusion about which PCV revision is the latest for my car.

My understanding is that the latest revision PCV only has one check valve in it making it more sturdy, but because of this the breather pipe also needs to be replaced to account for the single check valve. Is this correct? Now, here is the confusion. According to the dealer, there are two breather pipes; one goes from PCV to oil and one goes from PCV back in to the intake (I assume). Have I understood this correctly? If so, which breather pipe do I need to replace? Or do I need to do both?

The part numbers I've been given from my dealer for the lastest revision PCV are as follows:
    PCV - 06F 129 101 N
    Gasket - 06F 103 483 E
    Breather Pipe - 06F 103 235
    2nd pipe - 06F 103 221E

I've referred to this site a bit - PCV valve failure - Mkvgtiwiki - the problem is that the part numbers at the bottom of the page are outdated and American (which apparently are different parts to ours).

Jmac, Guy_H or anyone else in the know, are you able to help me here? Cheers
