But as for the original question - bear in a mind a polo is going to be a few years newer than a mkIV and most likely lower km's. If only comparing KW's between the two, power to weight needs to be taken into account. But are you really aiming to max out the engine??? other bits are likely to let go before that point.
Fair call. I thought the tuners did not touch the A/F ratios, I think this was one of the areas they can claim their coding is safe as it just relies on normal processing in this area.

I love my Polo, but the car is not as solid. Depends what you are after, a reliable sturdy 5 door or a lighter 3 door...

The AF most definately has to be doctored or you will have a chance of pinging with too lean a mixture or on the other hand too much fuel and less power, and all good and well changing the AF but it needs to fire right too so really the original MAP gets gets tweaked timing etc. Yes the comment about exhaust temps is right, it must stay below 750 degress or you run a big risk. Higher boost more air, then more fuel. All relevant.

We have been over this is a pervious thread in the Polo section... When chipped, the turbo is working at a similar efficency 'island' on the compressor curve, just further up it (~68% from memory)... Therefore, the air will not heat up significanly more than a stock boost unit and overspeed the exhaust wheel... Only a tad bit more heat may be generated in the bearings due to incressed compressor speed, but this will not shorten the life of the turbo by any discernable amount
