Thread: Polo GTI APR ECU Upgrade

  1. #61

I love this thread. Only ordered my GTI on January 29 so I'm in for a hell of a wait (yet to have any date confirmed) but it's fun to think about what I can do when I finally get it; and also to hear confirmation that it will be worth the wait

    good question,

On the 118tsi in the Jetta's & Golfs, we gained about 18wkw (base was around 107kw), but that was on a Mainline dyno run in March. Will have to wait & see.

Actually have some of our MKV (twincharger) data - 103kw standard 122 stage 1 as well.

It would be nice to see ~ 18wkw

    Guy,

When you have the package all sorted and ready for sale I will be happy to drive up to QLD for the upgrade!

will torque steer be worse after the tune? that was one of the things i disliked abt the GTI

Don't know - still getting to grips with the chassis of the car. Tyre pressures have a huge impact on torque steer & when we went to the dyno (checked pressures before dyno run) the fronts were 6psi different!

Would be interesting to see this Guy as when I test drove the GTI, I noticed it a bit but nothing like the HSV VXR (that was an angry monster of a car!), yet with the XDL which brakes the inside (re, wheel with less traction) this might be overcome and kept in check....

    Watching with baited breath
