Thread: Polo GTI APR ECU Upgrade

pardon my ignorance but how long does it take to engineer the new parts?

It depends on the amount of testing needed, if we get the exhaust right the first time, one prototype, and a couple of months for final production / testing. If we have to make changes (for noise - internal / external) it adds a couple of weeks per change.

This Polo exhaust will be slightly different as we have never done a twincharger before. BW are supplying APR with the compressor map data So we will start stage 2 calibration there.

Intercooler - This polo looks relatively simple - flow analysis of the standard one is first, then selection of a core & end tank design next - obvious data logging & testing, so 4 weeks for a prototype, 3 months for production (if it can be bought to market for a reasonable price).

Calibration files are being prepared for stage 1 software as we speak.

Do you have an indicative price on a Stage 1 tune yet? Too early to dare?

But of course he did, because he understands how much more betterer the Polo is!

3 of the dealerships I spoke to when I ordered my GTI said that at the release drive day down at Philip Island, the polo was keeping up with the R, yet leaving poor big brother Golf GTI behind!

Been fanging around in it, its great.

Initial impressions: Torque steer is back, wheel spin is back.

DSG in "D" is uninspiring, but perfect for traffic driving. "S" mode a whole lot better. Have to get used to using the paddles.

Doesn't feel as fast as the old one, but it is faster - a more grown up package.

Very impressive little package, should sell very well.

Hopefully in line with the other twincharger software (Golf)
