  1. #291

It's pretty good, set the tyres ~ 34PSI & its great, stage 2 + is a bit tougher

Guy, talk to me about APR stage 3, im thinking of a change of software.

I want to go hybrid however im not crazy about blowing too much money on a full off the shelf option, I plan on using a highly regarded turbo company to modify my std turbo with an uprated compressor wheel, bearings etc

Would the APR software be adaptable to work with different variations of hybrid turbo?

Do you guys need to epeatedly open the ECU to make changes to the map(my ecu is encrypted) or is it only required the initial time, then any further changes carried out via OBDII

Would the stage 3 map be able to run as a 102 RON map if I were to install weather methonal injection. The ability to swap is very appealing

We have been doing a lot of work on the DSG & The clutch packs (with our new Differential) so we still don't have the bigger turbo on board - hopefully in the next couple of weeks - we are juggling the Stage 4 Golf R, our new DSG GTI & The Polo all at once so its a busy schedule!

Anyway, as far as calibration goes with the larger turbo - APR just opened their UK headquarters so I can put you in touch & they can work with you if we are all on the same path with a bigger turbo!

To reflash the ECU, yes, needs to be opened at this stage - might have to confirm, but certainly ours does (no port flashing). - But then of course, once the map is sorted you will have the ability to switch between 4 maps!

You need to be careful with water / meth injection, APR has and can make maps for it, but certainly don't endorse it as there have been many, many world wide engine failures running that stuff!

    Guy

Do you have any dyno graphs with stock, stage 1, stage 2 and stage 2 with intercooler that I could look at. Did you make adjustments to the stage 2 map when the intercooler was fitted and what gains did you see.

Apologies for the questions. Just want to bbe sure before I make the change

    Hi vRS,

Get you the details on the UK shortly!

Have the dyno's on our car, but due to the development nature, they are all a bit mixed up.

Looking for a Polo GTI for final fitment, fitment instruction pictures & dyno testing. Anyone have a Polo GTI available in Brisbane? - a killer deal will happen
