POLARBEAR RAM AIR SYSTEM D.I.Y - carbonio eat this!

    POLARBEAR RAM AIR SYSTEM D.I.Y

Basically it is a small rectangular scoop that goes inside the factory air feed and into the factory airbox in a stealth manner to act as direct ram air to the normal panel filter.

Tested with my dad blowing into the front vent the air came out into the airbox solidly.

Box was made from a 3 drawer mini tool storage thing from bunnings. Plastic melted with a soldering iron to do all the sculpting and cutting. Also gets you fairly high I think as I was pretty cheerful by the end of it.

I can hear turbine whistle and other sounds I could not hear before.

Have not done full throttle yet but when I stuck my hand inside the box everything was very cold (10degree night) while the turbo was baking next door. So I figure the direct cold ram air was doing the trick.

The airflow would definitely be enough at 40kph to max out the engines airflow needs provided the paper filter can flow it. I have a pipercross panel coming soon.

On my scangauge 2 it is showing air intake temps of only 6 degrees c' above the outside air temp.

Can't recommend scanguage enough, it shows boost, air intake temp, actual speed, water temp, engine temp and lots more if you choose in a package that is plug and play in your OBD2 port.
