Performance Brake Pads - Recommendations?

Hi Guys,

I will upgrading my pads and lines within the next couple of weeks.

I have been thinking about purchasing EBC GreenStuff brake pads but have recieved mixed reviews.

Just wondering if anybody can confidently recommended performance pads, which are actually better than geniune.

They will be going on a MK1 Golf.

Another option; QFM A1RM. Used these on the track and highly recommend them. Good modulation, easy on your rotors and the amount brake dust is not too bad. Good luck with your decision.

I'm using the Greenstuff's with slotted RDA rotors.

I find it's a decent 'street performance' setup and pulls my polo up well when on the limit.

I wouldn't be able to say how they go on the track however.

I've used greenstuff on cars before and have been happy with them.

I've had "mixed" results with EBC pads on Track over the years.
One type will be Ok,the next....not so
I had Ferodo 2500's for over 40000k road and Track with very good results.Quiet,good when cold,and very effective once you have some temp in them.
Highly recommended.

Yep, they will squeal and lack a bit of bite if you don't bed them in properly but they work well after that.

I have EBC green stuff pads with Brembo Slotted Rotors... I found that the pads have a very narrow sweet spot... I found this in the Snowy Mountains, haha... However, they cool very quickly.

ATE makes ceramic pads for Tiguan. I've fitted them to both our Tigs. They are guaranteed for 50,000km/3years and should last much longer than that, the brake discs should last 200,000km (some say). I still can't get used to the clean wheels.

I fitted just Bendix GCT to my T5, they’ve done already 30,000km and still 10mm remaining. So, I'm confident that the ATE Ceramics will last very long time.
