Probably allowed due to the fact it was easier to ban turbo's than crack down on cars with power figures over a certain amount.

Also how many P Platers do you see driving an R32/R20?

    I wasn't 'hooked up'. I own an R32.

I could SWEAR that the R32 WAS on the banned list. But I am led to believe they 'reviewed' the rules, to allow for V6 cars under 200kW.

    In answer to original question:

Gav is pretty much making the most sense.

Having a light, fun and nimble car will be great. Without spending too much money on ppower gains with negligible returns, you can save for other things.

If the R32 isn't for you, buy a Mk5 GTD Sport and flash-tune it.

I really really really really really really wish I had done that

i'm not saying that everyone who bought an R was 'hooked up'. its just i see heaps of them around chatswood with red p plates on with bumpers all scratched up because they can't drive for ****. an example a couple of years ago when my classmate just got his p's, mummy and daddy bought optioned up mk5 r32 for him. i worked all my arse off and could only afford an '01 bora with over 170k on the clock. so don't take is as an offense
