MY08 MkV Golf Gti DSG Re Mapped Today in Sydney.

Had the Hothatch remapped today and I'm very pleased with the result.

I was able to dyno the car to establish a baseline which to my surprise and the tuners returned a healthy 139.3kw at the wheels stock standard.

This is on a Mainline Dyno (Not a Disneyland Dyno). I was also able to see before and after tune AFR and boost figures also.

Stock AFR was rather rich in the low 10's at WOT and boost was 14psi.

Post reflash its now still really safe in the mid to high 10's almost 11.0:1 and boost has increased to 16psi.

The car now makes 161.7kw atw's and was dyno'd in 4th gear DSG.

The car is AWESOME !!! to drive as I had to drive home to Wollongong it got a good test in many situations. It pulls in 4th gear now how it use to in 3rd. 1st and 2nd are insane. I've also picked up roughly 70Nm of torque.

I'm really happy with the result and the service I received.

    David

That looks pretty rich still. Have you noticed any black smoke when you boot it? I saw a bluefinned MK5 that was real rich at a dyno day last year that was in the 10s and smokey.
Has to be the best mod you can do to a car though.

    Hi Gavin,

No smoke mate, it's leaner than the OEM tune and there was no smoke before the tune and certainly isn't post tune. Agreed best bang for your buck mod. The car is the way it should have left the VW factory.

That's good then. If they left the factory like this, a lot more would die due to lack of servicing and the aftermarket would fall apart....

Its pretty much flat 10's stock and approaching 11's tuned, still a bit rich but better to be rich than lean there still a bit to be gained if you need it . Remember this is only when the car is WOT. Check it again in a while and after you get the dump pipe
Oh I might add twice the power of the A3 FTL

That would be the 1999 A3 with 130,000ks with the cracked hoses, boost leaks and a few electrical issues that made 80kw atw's straight after my run . All will be rectified shortly. I can almost hear the whistle of the K04.

Thought about doing this to the Skoda when it gets here, but I'm a bit off a noob when it comes to this stuff. So a few questions.
    1. How does it affect warranty?
    2. What else has to be done to the car ie can this be done without having to spend heaps more on other things?
    3. Whats involved and how long does it take?
    4. How easy can it be changed back if needed?
    5. How much does it cost? Who does it? Who's good/not so good?

Sorry for all the questions but like I said this stuff's all new to me.

    Hi Thommo,

The tuner is a member of this forum his user name is Parso_rex. Mark is probably the best person to answer your questions but in my case I have no other modifications to my car which is still under factory warranty BTW. The flashing process only took 20 minutes in total but dynoing takes time as the car has to be strapped down etc

After driving my car again today all I can say is its a WEAPON. I reckon you could fry a set of tyres in a day easily. Roll on acceleration in 3rd and 4th is amazing. It pulls like a freight train. Get the Skoda done when you get it. I'm sure Parso can flash it back to standard if need be. He's invested lots of coin in his equipment. It's all brand new. He even got a software update yesterday prior to flashing my car. Very professional outfit.

I can't say too much till my sponsorship comes through.
Daves car had the highest stock power for a GTI that I've seen they usually hover round 125 up to 130. I'm not sure what is going on there unless the previous owner had something done. It just doesn't make sense factoring in drive train loss. I'm even considering DSG after this one (note I said considering)
Everything is stock on the car mechanically too, nothing changes at this level, even the boost isn't too wild.

Oh yeah apologies for the Speed on the X axis and not RPM. I'll grab that for you next time I'm there. Operator error that one
