I got a reasonably priced Kinchrome one about a year ago and I have not snapped an alloy stud since. From memory it was somewhere near $100.
Welcome John.
Gentlemen, It is about time I purchased a torque wrench and stopped relying on my calibrated wrists.
Any thoughts on a good quality wrench would be most welcomed.
More care is now required with the Golf Gti 2007, and I am getting older.
Thank you in advance
Regards john

Welcome John.
Got the same/similar one, also roughly a year ago. Got it from Bunnings and it was the only one there, ~$89. Had a fact sheet that detailed how accurate it was (IIRC, mine was less than 1Nm off), and also provided details for getting it recalibrated. SuperCheap sells a visually identical one for considerably cheaper, though I don't know how reliable it may be.

I prefer the Warren & Brown dual signal deflecting beam type. I have 3 of them, all different range of course. The graduation you will need is in Newton metres, not sure if they are still sold with any other.

Bit of a problem there mate as you need a degree type torque wrench with most later VW stuff.
I use the Snapon one but its damn expensive!!!
Probably a good normal tension wrench would do and a degree fitment tool as well is required for occasional jobs.
