Mine was a very tight fit as well, I actually got the guys at the service to put it in in the end because I wasn't certain that it was sealing properly. They managed to get it in okay...

It was a filter element in the box. I'm buying this though from evorobin though instead

As has been said already, a K&N will help your engine suck in air easier.
The good thing too about K&N's is that they have one for pretty much any make of car, even my old '86 Mazda 626 carby![]()
I am thinking of putting an apexi power intake into my golf vr6 instead though, why? To be a bit different, and because of this: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/.
You could get a BMC CDA for less than 200 pounds!
Rock on BMC!!!
installed it!
Got to this point and thought the hell with it, who needs an air filter anyways
ooooh shiny
And all done, what pod filter officer? its just a sticker, its tricks the car into going faster.
Many thanks to Evorobin for supplying me the setup.

Does anyone know if you need to buy the k&n cleaning fluid or can you use something else?

Looking good mate. I really noticed the difference at high revs although it does sound nice full stop. Make sure the throttle is opening all the way. I put a new throttle cable in when I had a pipercross and all of a sudden it sounded medieval![]()
There are a couple of brands that make similar things but not sure if you can really use them with a K&N. They may have different formulations/cleaning agents....Originally Posted by ibeezer
The K&N stuff is good anyway because it's oil is pink so your not as likely to over saturate the filter, and it doesn't cost that much (the $20-30 investment will last you a hell of a long time).
