Clean but dangerous! I'd go down the path Fuzion showed.

I know putting a cover or a sheild is restrictive to the intercooler, but wouldn't be safer on the road and police wise to put a black or coloured sheild over the front?

I wouldn't know how to manufacture one but wouldn't be a heck of alot safer to avoid being defected? All those kits are quite visible.

Also, I read somewhere about using another standard intercooler in paralell which seemed to work as well when a larger turbocharger was installed. Who's gonna notice that?

The Audi 1.8T uses two SMICs ... possibly go that way?

Crossing the road is dangerous but doesn't stop you from doing it.

They have a different inlet manifold with the throttle body on the other side on the S3 and TT if that's what you are thinking of.
