Are you thinking of selling because of dsg issues? I'm considering a remap but I've been watching the recall you guys got over there and wondering if VW will expand the dates and countries.

My mate who was going to help me install it hasn't had the time and I've already survived 2 summers without it, if I installed it now I wouldn't get a lot of time out of it if I was to get the Mk7 GTI and I wouldn't get anything for it if I sold my car with it installed.

Not really. It sits in the back of your mind but it's not causing me any grief since I had mine replaced last year. I've still got warranty for another 14 months too.
The tune in itself won't cause issues, but I'd recommend resisting the urge to put the car under a lot of load at low RPM with Stage 1, yes the supercharger and extra torque will get you going and yes it does sound awesome but in my experience that's probably not going to help long-term reliability. Also shifting manually under full load (although a TAI helps with that).

Hi all just wanted to check which plugs your running looking at info on another thread in the MK6 section- Lucas R showed a link where is looks like the plugs have been updated to- NGK BKR7EIX rather then the PFZR version.
Can anyone shed some light?

Anyone have experience running a stage 1 tune other than APR?
Today's the day Brendan - going to finally have a go at whacking that S3 intercooler in this afternoon
I'll be interested to hear just how michbdifference

Well next time we have a 46.5 C day down here (according to the car) I'll be able to let you know
On most hot days the Intake temp sits at around 50 C, so if it is indeed a 30% improvement then I should see the temps at around 35 C I suppose.
Having the DSG oil changed from synthetic to mineral however has also made a noticeable difference to hot weather driving (although I haven't done much stop/start in hot weather yet since the freeways are quiet).
See what happens when you do too many spirited drives in the twisties
