I know APR in the USA has used DSG software before. Is it APR proprietary, or another company (HPA etc)?

Heh... I offered to pay VW extra, even escalated it with Volkswagen Group Australia and was told that they don't have a method of requesting it for a single car and they don't have a strategy for letting people have it if they wanted it if none of the cars came with them by standard...

I thought of also getting a body shop to fill the holes and respray, but being metallic, they'd probably have to have done the entire bumper, and then that would've stopped me from getting the ventureshield applied for a month or so, in which time (with my luck) i'd probably have a boat load of stone chips already, so I just used a Golf R specific Lakin Plate Bracket instead:

Yeah I'd do that too if it was white, but really after having the car 6mths, do you even notice it? I still have that big OEM thing there and couldn't care less any more.

Yep... I do. Other people at work comment on it too. Especially cause there is another R and 5 or so GTI's in the carpark now with the stock holder and a non-full-sized Euro plates and so people walk by my desk and say how sloppy it looks compared to mine...

Glad I don't work with a bunch of wankers hehe Only comments I get is on how good the car/colour looks and are the wheels/exhaust standard!

Oh yeh back on topic. So is the DSG work a one off thing or is it something the APR dealers will be offering in future?

We are using HPA software - pretty much all thats available (and flexible) for the late model DSG's - they have a good name for their DSG stuff!

I thought it would be HPA. Are you using their Stage 2, 3, or 4 flash? If you're using 4, do you have any idea of the customisations that you'll be doing?

Not sure, we will be taking Sam's advice on what we should have. Once he has recommendations will let you know.

Are the clutches the only other change?

Have the APR guys thought about increasing engine capacity? Also are you using custom made cam shafts? If so what lift and duration are you running? Very interested to see how this car turns out ever since I saw APR USA post that Stage 4 teaser video

    Hey Ben,

Those are Schrick cams, not sure on the spec (I leave all that to APR). Never had the need to bore it out, the power output should be pretty awesome, but I'm sure someone will always want more! I suppose piston choice is a little limited for the FSI's
