Golf R stage 4 build well underway

Seeming Golf R stage 3's are becoming pretty common in Australia now, it's time to up the ante a little with a stage 4 Golf R.

Stage 4 is a built motor based on the successful APR Motorsport race program.

We are making some of our own chassis components this year, including alloy front control arms with adjustable castor, and our own versions of sway bars made to our own specifications.

Brakes & struts are the same as we used on our "Fastest Lap" Stage 3 Golf R manual from last year.

This car is a DSG, and if all goes well, we will be competing in Motor Magazines Tuner Challenge later this month.

Interim pictures are all on our facebook site:

Poor girl, only 12km on her and you're doing this!

600hp clutch packs, that's what we like to see!
And a drop shipped red stage 4 engine straight from APR USA!

Can't wait to follow the progress and results on this one Guy

More pics up, our new rear sway-bar, and the stage 4 engine complete - waiting on a part for the DSG gearbox.

I'd definitely like a drive please...

Did I see that stage 4 engine using the stock (plastic?) inlet manifold? I was only moderately surprised to see a plastic inlet manifold on my humble 1.8tsi but on a stage 4 Golf R? Hmmm.

No problems there at all - The APR Motorsport boys built our engine & in the 4 odd years of running their cars, I dont think they ever had any issues there at all.
