Would be good to get it organised ASAP I think. The demand is certainly there. Ive received several emails from people already looking for an affordable alternative to the APR dp.
Yes there is something in the pipeline through TurboXS Hornsby but for the poster above it all depends on how urgently its required. Two forum members have offered their cars one DSG one manual . It's still a way off yet. I use them for supplying gear for some of jap brands, all top notch stuff. They are also finalising supercharger kits for the Lotus boys

Your right there Tim, I know they have been looking at supporting Euro stuff for a while now, they certainly have the capability both here and OS. It will be interesting to see if they can do a cast bellmouth design at some stage too, space permitting. I've asked for them to consider making it an option to utilise the factory exhausts rear section for those that want a less hektik note but still the benefit of the dump and cat.

You can consider the Milltek full turbo back exhaust for about $2600 (parts only) for the Golf R. I just bought one and it's due for install this weekend, for an extra $105 I got the full system over just the apr DP. This might be something to consider for your budget but you should also take into account the ecu remap cost.

Hi rexman,
thanks for the tip mate. I contacted them and they have a stainless steel 3 inch dp 200 cel cat 805 cfm flow for $1180 installed. Not bad at all. They did say that there was some modding of the pipe for it to fit but did say you can go back to stock if required.
I will probably go and see them and have look at the dp, it does sound good.
Good to know and thanks again!
mate the tune is pretty good. Had it dynoed at TXS on an awd machine and it's making 170KW ATW and 335 n.m torque. I had some issue with the tune in the beginning as I had them install a brand new forge dv, drove off and it all felt pretty underwhelming. Took it back a week later, replaced the forge dv with the stock dv and voila!-instant new power!. According to my mechanic there were error codes with the forge dv in but none with the stock dv.
As most R owners are probably aware and I have had my big 'journey' of trying to understand what's going on with the R power delivery-basically the car comes alive at 2700 or thereabouts and keeps on going. There is lag there for sure as it's the bigger turbo having come from the MKV GTI. The stage 1 tune does assist marginally but IMO a stage 1 tune will not 'fix' the lag issue under 2700rpm. A change in attitude and driving style is all that is required to really get the full benefits of the R.
Need to add a dp and maybe a evoms v-flow intake-need to consider the volume of this though. I had it on my my mkv gti with definite noticeable improvements but they are loud whoosh whoosh!
HI masev,
I didn't get a 'pre' tune dyno done so I can't really say what the gains from stock were but after the tune dyno was 170KW ATW and 335 n.m torque so that seems about standard with other brands but every car as you know will give different numbers and every dyno will give different numbers. The dealer i went to claimed stage 1 tune will be 237 engine kw
cheers
Hi parso_rex,
yes I am very interested in this option too as it would appear are a few others. I ill be fine with the dp noise btw lol it's the sports cat that that I'd need to think about later on.
I will definitely be on standby to see how it turns out
cheers
HI ferret,
yes this is a good one and I'd love to hear how it goes for you-any chance of a bit of a review when it's on?
I am not sure i want to go full tbe at this stage and unfortunately the Milltek dp will not bolt on to stock components. It is a very good price though.
Did you get the aev thingy?

There really shouldn't be any additional noise .
At the moment TXS have two cars to look at one DSG and on manual so they'll be getting things underway shortly. I'm going to push them for the mk6 and mk5 GTIs later too but the ones they do now should cover the R,S3 and A3 quattro so it's a good start.
HiTech are certainly worth a look at too as they can custom make pretty much anything. I know Lambro and have had some of his systems in the past. He has a number of euro systems already jigged up too.
The more options the better I say
Yup, got the resonated option as than kit is louder than the stock exhaust so if I went with the non-resonated it would have been way too loud. Some guy has youtube videos of the non-resonated exhaust on a Golf R, do a search and you should find it.
I'll post up vids of the exhaust when it's complete. I also have the fuel pump and intercooler install this weekend which should bring the car to a stage 2+. Also keen to get down to the creek for 1/4 mile times to see the difference between my stage 1 and soon to be stage 2+.
